Cadets Leadership Development Countermeasure Research

Leadership is vital for the growth and development of cadets.However,our military colleges started late in leadership development,and there is still much room to improve.In contrast,leadership development in foreign military colleges is more systemic and scientific.In order to develop high-quality military personnel of a new type,our army should put forward leadership development system with PLA characteristic,on the basis of the cultivating experience of foreign military colleges such as West Point.Firstly,this study starts from the basic description of leadership,making specific interpretation of the concept of leadership: to explain and enrich the connotation of leadership from five aspects of the concept of leadership,the influence factors of leadership,the evolution process of leadership,the "soft" and "hard" leadership,as well as the composition and development of leadership.Afterwards,the leadership cultivation model of foreign military cadets is analyzed and described,mainly including the foreign cadets leadership development system,the main characteristics of foreign military cadets leadership training and practice aspects.Then this paper discusses the actuality and outstanding contradictions in cultivating students’ leadership in our military colleges,and the main methods of leadership cultivation are introduced,as well as their characteristics,and the main contradictions are pointed.Last but not least,based on the analysis and comparison of leadership development situation at home and abroad,this paper proposes suggestions for the leadership cultivation in our army from the aspects of moral accomplishment,courses,practice,and assessment mechanism.
