The Research On The New Era Monthly

“The New Era Monthly” is not only the campus journal of Hunan Self-study University,but also the official journal of the early Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China.The journal was founded in Hunan Self-study University on April 10,1923.It was forced to shut down on November 10,1923,when Hunan Selfstudy University was closed.The publication lasted for about 7 months.It published four journals,volume 1-4.It published 55 articles of 17 authors.It comprehensively recorded the early revolutionary propaganda work of Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the revolution to Party cadres and revolution Youth training and education.The articles published in “the New Era Monthly” are mainly divided into three parts.Firstly,propagandizing Marxist theory.“The New Era Monthly”,through publishing Marxist translations and introductory articles,expounds Marxist historical materialism,surplus value theory and scientific socialism,and proposes to transform the social system with Marxism as the guiding ideology.Secondly,propagandizing the spirits of the second National Congress of the Communist Party of China,criticizing imperialism and feudal warlord,proposing to organize democratic united front to overthrow imperialism and feudal warlords together.Thirdly,propagandizing educational reform thought.Reform and innovation of school system,education mode and education content,hope to improve the revolutionary literacy of the people through education,so as to transform the social environment.“The New Era Monthly” is characterized by its distinct features,high political and revolutionary nature,strong theoretical articles published,and one of the earliest journals to explore and use Marxism to analyze and guide the practice of Chinese revolution.It has played a great role in publicizing Marx doctrine,publicizing the party's democratic revolution program,improving the party's leading cadres and revolutionary youth's ideological advanced level and theoretical level.It has played a great role in propagandizing Marxism,propagandizing the revolutionary program and lofty mission of the Communist Party of China,and training revolutionary cadres and youth.As the first school magazine of training revolutionary cadres in China,“the New Era Monthly” magazine should focus on Marxism as its main content,publicize the spirit of the National Congress of the party,and integrate theory with practice,which also provides rich experience for the establishment of the campus journals of Party school and cadres school in the future.
