Traditional handicrafts are an important part of China's traditional excellent culture,and are the result of the wisdom of the people.With the continuous development of modern manufacturing technology and the incessant integration and change of diverse cultures,the inheritance and development of traditional handicrafts are facing severe challenges.China 's existing legal system has made relevant provisions for the protection of traditional handicrafts,but it is still not comprehensive enough.It is often impossible to give effective legal guidance to solve the infringement of geographical indications of endless traditional handicrafts.Geographical indications are an important component of the intellectual property system,and they are highly consistent with traditional handicrafts in terms of territoriality,group nature,permanence,non-transferability,etc.Many traditional handicrafts in China have become well-known geographical indication products at home and abroad,so it is of great significance to strengthen the protection of geographical indications of traditional handicrafts.Qingyang sachets are profound in folk culture and are traditional handicrafts with distinctive characteristics.It is not only listed as a national intangible cultural heritage,but also an important geographical indication product.It is a feasible method to protect Qingyang sachet and other traditional handicrafts by using the geographical indication system,which can obtain the best effect and thus realize the protection and inheritance of traditional handicrafts.This article analyzes the basic theory of geographical indication protection for traditional handicrafts,discusses the protection mode of geographical indications in foreign countries,the situation of protection of geographical indications in China,and the status of the protection of geographical indications for traditional handicrafts,and takes Qingyang sachet as an example to deeply analyze the actual problems in the protection of Qingyang sachets geographical indications.Finally,combined with the existing legal regulations and protection systems,corresponding suggestions are put forward on how to protect traditional handicrafts through the geographical indication system.Specifically,on the one hand,it is necessary to form a hybrid protection model dominated by special laws,and improve and refine the existing relevant laws and regulations;On the other hand,relevant measures are taken to improve the protection system of traditional handicraft geographical indications,such as strengthening the supervision and management mechanism,giving play to the functions of industry associations,and exploring multiple ways to protect rights.
