On The Goals And Means Of US Policy Towards Turkey (2010-2019)

After 2010,the relationship between the United States and Turkey became more and more estranged,and the United States adjusted its policy towards Turkey accordingly.The U.S.is committed to suppressing Turkey's power orientation,preventing Turkey from becoming centrifugal,consolidating the U.S.-Turkish alliance,putting Turkey back on track,promoting Turkey's secularization and reshaping its image in Middle East Islamic countries such as Turkey.As a leading country,the United States has set up two "behavior boundaries" for the subordinate country Turkey,one is not to violate the global security strategy of the United States,the other is not to maintain close relations with other non allies,especially Russia,in the security field.The means used by the United States are all based on whether Turkey has violated the "Behavior Boundary",which are political and economic inducement,economic and military sanctions,persuasion and other means.However,the effect of the U.S.policy towards Turkey is not obvious,which can not really solve the contradictions between the United States and Turkey.How to continue to play Turkey's role under the framework of NATO is a big problem facing the United States.However,the United States will not allow its once close allies to become hostile countries,and will continue to maintain close cooperation with Turkey in the political and security fields,so as to ensure the hegemony of the United States in the central and eastern regions.
