Research On The Standards Of Awarding Master's Degree In Chinese Universities

The degree reflects the individual's academic and education level.As an important way to provide senior talents to the country and society,the degree applicants are required to have high knowledge and academic level and good moral quality to meet the requirement of a master's degree.However,there exist many deficiencies,such as ambiguity and confusion in the current standards for the award of master's degrees in colleges and universities in China,which will lead to academic disputes and degree disputes.It is not only detrimental to ensuring the quality of master's degree award and promoting the development of higher education.It is even worse for Chinese education to meet international standards to become internationalization and globalization.Therefore,the establishment of uniform,clear,scientific and perfect standards for the award of master's degrees is not only conducive to reducing degree disputes,effectively safeguarding the interests of degree applicants,but also conducive to further improve the quality of the degree,thus improving the standards for the training of talents,indirectly promoting the development of China's educational,scientific and cultural undertakings and accelerating the process of integrating higher education with national education.This paper was organized based on the existing theoetical and current implementation status of the master degree award standard in China,aiming to build a perfect degree award standard through analyzing the problems existing in the current award standards It is hoped that this research will be beneficial to the research activities in the field of master's degree award standard,and provide some suggestions for the development of degree system in China.The first part is the introduction.This paper mainly introduces the background,significance and methods,and makes clear the theoretical value of this research.Through the review and analysis of the relevant literature,in the existing theoretical results,the different views of different scholars on the content of the degree award standard are summarized,which provides a theoretical basis for the following.The second part of the article starts from the general theory of degree conferring standard,and firstly clearly defines the connotation of degree conferring standard,that is,the degree award standard refers to the standard that should be met by the degree applicant and the standard that the degree awarding unit should follow in the degree award link.This paper defines the characteristics of the standards for awarding master's degree in universities.Through the analysis of the standards of awarding master's degree in western countries,the author draws inspiration and provides reference for China.And summarizes the current university master's degree award standard,and then through the sample of 20 colleges and universities in China,the implementation of the master's degree standard in China's colleges and universities is analyzed,which provides the basis for finding problems below.The third part of the article according to the above analysis of the status of 20 sample colleges and universities master degree award standards,found that the current award standards exist problems,including :(1)master degree award standards are inconsistent;(2)ignore the curriculum standards,pay too much attention to academic papers;(3)learning quality requirements are too low;(4)arbitrary addition of standards;(5)ignore the moral quality of students.By finding out the problems and analyzing the reasons,this paper provides a theoretical basis for improving the criteria for granting master's degree in colleges and universities in China.In addition,through the analysis of the standards of awarding master's degree in western countries,the author draws inspiration and provides reference for the improvement of China's standards.The fourth part of the article is to perfect the award standard of master's degree in colleges and universities.This part makes clear the significance of perfecting the award standard of master's degree in colleges and universities in China.From the theory,law and reality three levels clear master degree award standard perfect basis premise.This paper puts forward the principle that should be adhered to when perfecting the standard,that is,to make the standard moderately;the standard should adhere to the principle of legality;and the standard should embody the unity of academic and non-academic nature and degree management.On the basis of clear principles,put forward the standard of granting master's degrees in colleges and universities ought to be content,including the curriculum standard,dissertation,practice training and political ideological and ethical standards,and analyzes the specific content of the four standard,for the country and set the standard for granting master's degrees in colleges and universities to provide feasible suggestions.
