The visually impaired group has its own particularity in the disabled group,80% of human access to information comes from vision, and the visually impaired people themselves because of an insurmountable gap between the visual impairment and the general population.Access to modern information society, mass information is also presented in a variety of mobile devices and PC end,if unable to help visually impaired groups overcome the obstacles to information reception, then the gap will be infinitely widened, resulting in the ultimate result of the total marginalization of visually impaired groups. In the process of bridging the “information gap”between the disabled and the general population, such as the visually impaired,Internet technology is an unavoidable factor, and it also has an impact on the life of the visually impaired group. With the development of Internet, the concept of barrier-free construction has been broadened, and the construction of network barrier-free construction is urgent.Under the background of the development of Internet technology, how to promote the construction of the field of accessibility and realize the basic needs of the visually impaired group is a matter of concern. In this report, six subjects were identified through previous observation and interview: He Chaoyu,Wu Xudong,Chen Yan,Liang Jiangbo,Zhou Tong,Xu Jian. They are also faced with obstacles as they actively explore their lives and benefit from the convenience of technology. The development of science and technology seems to be a light in their dark world, and how far this light can illuminate needs further exploration. Therefore, this report focuses on the impact of technology, especially modern technology represented by the Internet, smart phones,on the visually impaired groups. What role does technology play in the interaction between visually impaired groups and society? How the visually impaired people use technology to get out of the original “narrow space” and gradually integrate into the mainstream society. In this process,we will also reflect on the social meaning of disability: is disability just an individual problem? How does society treat disability and what is the public perception of disability? What changes can be made? How far are we from“accessibility” in the real sense? Hope this report can present the above problems as much as possible.
