A Study Of College Students' Concept Of Happiness In The Perspective Of Modernity

The existence of human being is based on the concept of happiness.The utmost goal of human is happiness.As the Socrates said: “There is no need to explore the reasons why human longing for happiness,for happiness is the ultimate goal.” Human never cease to pursue happiness.The whole history of human is also the history of pursuing happiness.In the contemporary society,modernity is the basic pattern which has penetrated in every level of society and influenced the human's life profoundly.This paper takes modernity as the perspectives,and aims to further explore the influence on college students' concept from the perspectives of instrumental rationality,secular spirit,subjective consciousness,liberty,and to find the best way for instill the concept of happiness in college students.This study firstly deconstructs the connotation of happiness and describes the types of it,traces back the history of concept of happiness and explains the connotation of modernity,which laid the foundation for the research.Then,through the method of questionnaire and interview survey,which research the current situation of college students' happiness,from experience of happiness,anticipation of happiness,cognition of happiness,orientation of happiness and influencing factors and practical way of happiness,this study analyzes college students' concept of happiness.Then,analyze the reason for the trouble of some students.College students' concept of happiness shows a positive trend on the whole,but some problems also exist,such as materialism,hedonism,individualism and moral weakening tendency.Focusing on these problems,this study conducted attribution analysis from the perspective of modernity.Finally,this study puts forward some guidance and suggestion from the three perspectives,concept,content,form.First,to establish the concept of educating with the aim of happiness.Second,to construct scientific educational system for college students.Third,to take multidimensional and stereo education form of college students' concept of happiness.
