How to reduce the cognitive burden has been the focus of attention as basic education.Through the study of cognitive load,we found that the individual's emotions,motives and self-regulation will affect their psychological efforts and reduce the cognitive load.Self-efficacy is the belief and grasp of the individual's ability or skill,and the intermediary process affects the generation of individual behavior and the maintenance of the process through the process of selection,thinking,motivation and emotional reaction.It has also been proved that self-efficacy affects the level of cognitive load by influencing the degree of cognitive resource input and different input methods in the same task environment.It is also rare to study the relationship between cognitive load and self-efficacy in the field of chemistry.And the relevant research on cognitive load theory focuses on teaching methods,and less concerned about the impact of student emotional factors.Therefore,the study of chemical learning self-efficacy as independent variables,chemical cognitive load as the dependent variable,to explore the relationship between the two.Which provides a new research direction for reducing the cognitive burden of disciplines and also provides empirical research on the influencing factors of cognitive load.In this study,375 high school students from two middle schools in Changsha and Guangzhou were selected as the study subjects.The "High School Students' Chemical Cognitive Load Measurement Questionnaire" written by Peng Wei in 2015 and the "Chemistry Learning Self" Efficacy survey questionnaire "as a tool for high school students to conduct a questionnaire survey.A total of 800 questionnaires were issued.705 copies were recovered,and the actual questionnaire recovery rate was 53.2%.By collating the data,SPSS19.0 statistical software was used to analyze the data,and the following conclusions were obtained:(1)There was a significant negative correlation between high school students' chemical cognitive load and high school chemistry learning self-efficacy.(2)The self-efficacy of chemistry learning in high school students has a significant predictive effect on high school students' chemical cognitive load.Therefore,in the process of chemical teaching,by improving the high school students 'chemical learning self-efficacy can effectively reduce the students' chemical cognitive load.
