Study On Cai Yuanpei's Idea Of Substituting Aesthetic Education For Religion

Cai Yuanpei's idea of "Substitute Aesthetic Education for Religion" is a result of the times.However,the idea not only have great value for his times,but also can make a difference to the modern society.Until now,it has been one hundred years since the idea raised out And during this time span,plenty of scholars have done many researches on it,which of them are very valuable.But there are misunderstandings and flaws need our attention And the most crucial problem is that the whole culture background has been forgotten by scholars.To have a better understanding of "Substitute Aesthetic Education for Religion",the discussion about a wider culture background will be added.The thesis mainly includes four parts:Part one focus on analyzing four kinds of ideas on rescuing China:science and democracy by radicalism,Chinese traditional culture by conservatism,religion including Confucianism and Christianism and science and aesthetic education by Cai Yuanpei In all these four ideas,only religion and aesthetic education pay attention to cultivate people's emotion,so Part two is going to focus on the development of these two.Part three is about to analyze the idea of 'Substitute Aesthetic Education for Religion",hoping to get to know its direct triggers,the theoretical bases,the argumentations,and illuminate several misunderstandings.Based on the front three parts,Part four will try to evaluate and analyze its value from theoretical level and practical level.
