"Sexism" was originally the development and continuity of "feminist studies" under the background of feminist movement in the 1960 s.Then it experienced a transitional and booming period effected by postmodern cultural ideological trend in the late 20 th century. The scholars who study sexism believe that there are two similar concepts: “sex” and "gender"."Sex" refers to the natural gender, which is the physiological characteristics and differences between male and female. But "gender" is different from the concept of "sex",which exists independently according to the specific composition in the society. It is determined by sex structure of male and female,as well as the relationship among the different sex in social groups, which is also effected by the independent social history, culture, religion and other factors. In this paper, the topic is about the influence of aboriginal women on music in Taiwan's social and cultural life. The construction of this thesis depends on the definition of "social gender theory".On the other hand, music which is regarded as an important medium for carrying forward, symbolizing and strengthening gender consciousness and concept as well as its subordination in the development of social life,is the best witness of the regional culture and custom.Music study from the "Gender perspective" is regarded as a borderline research direction when studying contemporary music, which has new research value and significance.Based on this, this thesis will explore the old ballad music behaviour and form in the maternal tribe of Taiwan Xia Bing Lang. From the perspective of "gender",this paper is to conduct comprehensive research on the relationship between women and the form of old ballad music in their tribe,as well as make further explanations about the effect of women on tribal culture and music and its internal relationship, combined with beliefs and customs of the tribe of Taiwan Xia Bing Lang and taking advantage of the Anthropology research.
