Guided by the laws of table tennis, this paper used document literature method, video observation, mathematical statistics method, and comparative analysis to conduct a study of sixty match videos of five excellent Chinese table tennis players including Wang Hao,Ma Long,Xu Xin,Zhang Jike and Fan Zhendong in respect of their use of loops, their following-up controls of the placement of the ball, body motion, and influences of loops on rallies. After a comprehensive analysis of the five excellent players' use of backhand loops and following-up movements and the effects, the results were concluded as follows:Fan Zhendong has a strong ability to use forehand flip to ace.Ma Long is weak in acing by backhand flip, especially by forward loops, but he plays better with diagonal-line loops than with straight-line loops.Ma Long's ability to recover his stance after a straight-line loop is relatively stronger.Wang Hao is relatively weak in acing by flicks especially in straight lines, but his ability to score with diagonal loops is stronger.Xu Xin is relatively strong in acing by backhand flip in terms of both placement and direction.Zhang Jike is strong in both acing by backhand flip and scoring by controlled flicks especially in forward and center directions and all lines.Fan Zhendong frequently uses backhands in the strokes next to a forehand flip, but he is comparatively weak in scoring by following-up backhands after a forehand flip.He is also comparatively weak in both the ability to recover his stance after a forehand flip and the ability to employ forehand after a forehand flick, but once he makes it,the successful following-ups would have a positive influence on rallies.Ma Long is weak in acing by following-up forehand and backhand strokes.Wang Hao is strong in recover in his stance after a backhand flip. His forehand strokes hardly vary from backhand strokes in scoring after a flip.Xu Xin's following-up forehand strokes are better than backhand strokes after a flick. But he is relatively weak in switching to a backhand stroke after a straight-line loop while he is strong in recovering from a backhand flip.Zhang Jike is relatively weak in recovering from center-direction and backhand flips.Fan Zhendong is strong at continuous forehand attacking after he recovers from a forehand banana flip.Ma Long's following-up backhand strokes are better than forehand strokes in rallies.Wang Hao is weak in switching between forehands and backhands while his forehand strokes are significantly better than backhand strokes in rallies after a loop.Xu Xin's forehand strokes are stronger than backhand strokes in rallies after a flip.Zhang Jike is strong in switching between forehands and backhands after a flip. His forehand's scoring ability is significantly stronger than his backhand's in rallies after a flip.
