Whether the characteristics of the movement of object can help observer track the target or not,it is a argued problem in the dynamic visual tracking field.From the angle of the trajectory direction information,this study tries to prove the Tracking Prediction Hypothesis by combining multiple object tracking paradigm and target recovery paradigm;Compared with the basketball players and general population,we can understand that different groups differ in the processing characteristics of the track direction information,and discuss the visual index theory or object file theory to the support degree for the research results.In this study,two experiments were designed,which were based on vanishing point and prediction point to discuss the influence of motion trajectory direction information on multiple object tracking performance.Experiment1: a discussion about the influence of the the direction information based on vanishing point on the multiple object tracking,using the 2 x 2 x 4 mixed design,the crowd types(basketball athletes and ordinary university students)as the factors among the groups,the target number(2,4)and the target recurrence position(the vanishing point,the estimated point,90 degrees on the left of the vanishing point,90 degrees on the right of the vanishing point)as the factors in the group,analyzing mixed repetitive measures variance by tracking accuracy as the variable.Results :(1)the crowd type was significantly significant,and the track record of basketball players was significantly better than that of ordinary university students.(2)the main effect of the target number was significant,and the tracking results of the two targets were significantly better than those of the four targets;(3)the main effect of the target recurrence location was significant,and the vanishing point was significantly better than the prediction point,which was better than the 90-degree point;(4)the interaction between the target number and the target recurrence position was significant;(5)the remaining interactions were not significant.Results showed the differences of the tracking ability between basketball athletes and ordinary university students,we can use the direction information to help track,and guess the observer can make further predictions based on working memory to the direction of information.Experiment 2: a discussion about the influence of the direction information based on the forecasting point on the multiple target tracking,using the 2 x 2 x 5 mixed design,the crowd types(basketball athletes and ordinary university students)as the factors among the groups,tracking the target number(2,4)and the target recurrance position(the vanishing point,prediction point,front point of prediction point,90 degrees on the left of the vanishing point,90 degrees on the right of the vanishing point the vanishing point right)as the factors in the group,analyzing mixed repetitive measures variance by tracking accuracy as the variable.Results :(1)the crowd type was significantly significant,and the track record of basketball players was significantly better than that of ordinary university students.(2)the main effect of the target number was significant,and the tracking results of the two targets were significantly better than those of the four targets;(3)the main effect of the target recurrence location was significant,the vanishing point was significantly better than the other points,and the prediction point was significantly better than the prediction point and the 90-degree point;(4)the interaction between the crowd and the recurrence position was significant,and the difference of them was the largest in the position of the prediction front point;(5)the remaining interactions were not significant.It showed the processing preferences of the different groups on the direction information are not consistent on the basis of the location processing.Conclusion: The visual tracking uses both the location information and the feature information,so it can not be generalized bying the "trajectory prediction hypothesis".The ability of basketball players who use the track information are stronger than that of ordinary university students.It is necessary to explain the results of two studies with the theory of visual index and object file theory.
