Stochastic service system,or queuing theory,is widely applied in telecommunications,transportation,computer networks and other fields.In the field of wireless communications,queuing theory can help operators optimize spectrum allocation;in the field of computer networks,queuing theory can help search engines to sort web pages.Queuing theory is closely related to our life.This article uses the method of queuing theory to study energy saving problem.The main contents are as follows:1.The first part studies the application of queuing theory in the field of computer networks.Studies have shown that an idle server consumes as much as three-fifths of the peak power.Therefore,when there is no customer in the system,turning off the server can effectively save energy.However,this method will increase customer's waiting time and have impact on customer's experience.Thus,the two are often conflicting.In the above background,this paper studies an unreliable M/M/1/1 retrial queues with set-up time.There are five states of the server:off,idle,busy,set-up,and repairing.We get the probability of each state when the system is stable and establish a cost function to optimize this problem.2.The second part studies the application of queuing theory in the field of new energy vehicles.Since renewable energy can effectively reduce greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions in industrial development,replacing fossil-fired energy with renewable energy may be one of the most effective strategies to overcome those challenges.Therefore,many countries encourage the development of new energy vehicles.There are generally three kinds of cars on the market:electric cars,conventional cars,and hybrid cars.Depending on the source of the car's power source,service providers need to provide two different kinds of service:charging and refueling.In this paper,we build an M/M/s queue for each service and obtain the average queueing length.According to the profit function,we analyze the impact of service price and resource allocation on profit and help the service provider to maximize profit.
