We are in a time of globalization,which has become an irreversible trend.It strengthens the interaction,communication and collaboration and sets new demands on the development of people.Meanwhile,global risks appear during the trend.Global risks generally refer to problems that cannot be solved by a single country,such as international immigration,international crimes,ecological destruction,etc.Global risks are not limited to the nation-states maintained area.With the development of the globalization process,mankind is confronted with global common prosperity and common problems,meanw hile the term of ordinary citizenship cannot satisfy the development of the era.O n one hand,ordinary citizenship itself has the national identity of the nation;on the other hand,it is also a member of the multicultural world.For the latter reason,the identity of citizenship needs to go beyond national recognition on certain occasions which gives rise to the term of “global citizenship”.The construction of global citizenship is therefore proposed and considered as an effective means of reducing conflicts and contradictions in global dialogues and exchanges.It can effectively alleviate the problem of citizenship identity puzzles,and solve world problems based on this basis and reduce the negative impact of globalization risks on various countries.These effects collectively mean the increasingly prominent importance of the global citizenship in the era of globalization.At present,for the goal of global citizenship training,some results have been achieved through theoretical research and practical e xploration.Countries are committed to cultivating global citizenship to meet the needs of the development of globalization through civic education.This development trend also brings new demands for the civic education in C hina.The current civic educatio n in C hina is relatively weak in both theoretical and practical areas.Under globalization situation,China civic education also faces many problems.Therefore,China civic education needs to take timely measures to improve civic education in order to respond to the wave of globalization.This dissertation focuses on civic education in the era of globalization from the perspective of the global citizenship.It can help us understand the rationality and necessity of civic education to cultivate the global citizenship in the context of globalization.Moreover,it also provides suggestions and ideas for the potential civic education reform.The dissertation is divided into five parts.The first introduction part explains the terms and current researches of globalization,civic education and global citizenship.The second part focuses on the reasons and necessity for choosing civic education as the topic which based on the perspective of global citizenship.The third part analyzes the global civic education and elaborates what kind of civic education should adopt in the era of globalization.The fourth part mainly elaborates the current civic education situation in C hina and the existing problems in the process of the global citizenship cultivation.The final sect ion proposes possible strategies to improve civic education of China.
