With the development of educational informatization,the form of video resources is being updated day by day.The emergence of interactive video has injected fresh blood into the construction and development of video resources,but the research on interactive video is not very rich.This paper first reviews the domestic and foreign interactive video research on embedded.problems,investigates the status of embedded problems in typical e-learning platforms at home and abroad,summarizes its research status and research gaps,and further identifies research issues.On this basis,the paper explores the effects of question embedding position and question feedback type on learner knowledge retention,knowledge transfer and mental effort through quasi-experimental research,to provide some reference for interactive video design of embedded questions.In the first study,we explored the influence of interactive video with question embedding on learning,in which the position of question is divided into two types:the question appears before the knowledge(Prequestion Group)and the question appear after the knowledge(Postquestion Group).And Control Group didn't embed questions in video.As a result,it has been found that interactive video with embedded questions,regardless of whether the embedding position is before or after,has a significant influence on the learner's knowledge retention and can promote the learner's knowledge retention learning.And,the Prequestion Group' migration has the highest score,which is significantly better than Control Group or Postquestion Group.However,in terms of mental effort,although the learner scored higher when there were embedded questions in video,there was no significant difference.Based on Study 1,Study 2 mainly explores the influence of the two factors of the embedded position and question feedback type in interactive video on learning.Based on the previous research and investigation,the problem embedding position is divided into prequestion and postquestion,and the question feedback type is divided into no feedback,correct/incorrect feedback,and elaborative feedback.The results show that there is no interaction between the question embedding position and the question feedback type for the knowledge retention,the migration of prequestioned information and mental effort.And the main effect of the two factors is not significant.As for the knowledge transfer,although the embedded position and feedback type have no interaction effect,the main effect of the embedded position is significant,and Prequestion Groups is obviously higher than Postquestion Groups.It is worth noting that,for the non-questioned information,the embedded position and feedback type have significant interaction effects.When there is no feedback,Prequestion Groups is better than the Postquestion Groups;for the correct/incorrect feedback,Prequestion Groups have no Difference with Postquestion Groups;for elaborative feedback,Prequestion Groups is better than the Postquestion Groups.Moreover,the main effect of embedding position is significant,and the score of Prequestion Groups is higher than Postquestion Groups.Based on the above research,this paper provides some theoretical and practical guidance for the design and development of interactive instructional video embedded questions,and describes the shortcomings and prospects of this study.
