Muay Thai's Difficulties And Development Path Selection In China

When the media revolution Muay Thai is a kind of combat skill full with long history,profound cultural connotation and swift offense and defense technique.Muay Thai is a kind of competitive sport has its own conventional principle with which athletes can use fist,leg,elbow,knee and clinch to conduct valid attack.Although it was not a long time since Muay Thai has been introduced into China,this sports has step into a healthy,ordered and stable development phase.This study use literature review,face-to-face interview,analysis and mathematical analysis to investigate the development of Muay Thai in China.And we can conclude that:firstly,Muay Thai in China has made a great progress in competitive events and domestic commercial events and had a promising future followed the conduction of policy.Secondly,our domestic tournament developed well while the number of athletes and clubs increased stably.But there are also several problems: firstly,the lack of commercial events has led to the low payment of athletes and the short of finance of clubs.Secondly,there is not a grade ranking of domestic athletes,coaches and referees which led to the low level of education of staffs.Thirdly,there are significant differences between the locations of Muay Thai teams,the lack of complete total system led to the big gap between local clubs and national teams,and the domestic athletes and foreign athletes.Lastly,the financial supports of Muay Thai are always relay on the investment of enterprise,admission fees and events payments.Combined the suggestions of professions and logical argument,this study suggest that:firstly,we should keep the pace of the development of Muay Thai sports while retain the cultural characteristics.Secondly,we should complete the events systems and institutional system,establish Chinese Muay Thai association.Thirdly,we should set up a grade ranking system of athletes,coaches and referees,and reinforce the training of our staffs.Fourthly,we should recognize the gap between domestic athletes and for domestic athletes and foreign athletes,take the advantage of our own and learn from the physical and strength training system of foreigners.Lastly,we should pay attention to the innovating development of Muay Thai,cultivate stable market,render cultural characteristics andencourage technical innovation.
