A Survey Of College Students' Political Awareness In The New Era And Countermeasures

General Secretary Xi Jinping repeatedly mentioned "four consciousnesses" at various conference occasions,namely,political awareness,overall awareness,core consciousness,and self-consciousness.The "four consciousnesses" are powerful political guarantees that unite the wisdom and strength of the entire party and lead the people of all ethnic groups in the country to achieve the goal of socialist modernization.In the "Four Consciousnesses",political consciousness occupies the leading position."Political awareness is not only a manifestation of human life in the political realm,but also a political idea and governance concept of the ruling party.It is always the core of the political realm." The college students are the vital force as well as reserve force for the modernization of socialism and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Strengthening the cultivation of university students' political awareness is an important part of consolidating the status of the ruling party.It is necessary to "educate and guide young people to strengthen their ideals and beliefs,firmly establish the 'four consciousnesses,' in order to make them take the party's banner as the banner,the party's direction as the direction,and the party's will as the will." The report of the Nineteenth Party Congress makes the assertion that Chinese society has entered a new era,which is a scientific judgment setting the historical wisdom of China's social development.College students' attention,understanding,attitude,evaluation,and belief in these political assertions and claims are a direct reflection of the political consciousness of college students in the new era.In order to fully understand the current situation of college students' political awareness in the new era,the thesis focuses on college students in Guangxi.Through the issuance of the Survey Questionnaire on the Current Political Consciousness of College Students in the New Era,a random survey is conducted to investigate 804 university students in 13 colleges and universities in Guangxi.The survey covers subjects of different genders,different grades,different political features,different majors,different students,and different types of college students in literature,science,engineering,agriculture,medicine,sports,and arts.Based on investigation and comparison,it is found that the political consciousness of college students in the new era presents a good overall situation.College students have a high degree of political attention,political awareness is basically correct,political attitude is clear and positive,political evaluation is oriented correctly,and political beliefs are generally firm.At the same time,the survey finds that the political consciousness of college students in the new era is characterized by autonomy,ambivalence,profitability,and superficiality.The survey also finds that there are still some problems in the political consciousness of college students in the new era,such as some college students lack of political interest,political attention is low;political cognition is inaccurate,;political attitude is not correct;political evaluation is negative and political beliefs are not firm.According to the current situation and existent problems of the political consciousness of college students in the new era,the thesis analyzes the factors that affect the political consciousness of college students in the new era from the aspects of social environment,ideological and political education in colleges and universities,network environment and college students' own reasons.Accurately grasping the current status of college students' political awareness and its influencing factors,and conduct in-depth investigations and studies,combined with the construction of ideological and political work in colleges and universities at the current stage in China,the thesis proposes targeted countermeasures for the education of college students' political awareness.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion,the study of this paper involves four aspects,which are shown as following:The first chapter mainly states the related concepts concerning the New Era,and then discusses the connotation and form of the political consciousness of college students in the new era.The second chapter analyzes the current situation of college students' political awareness based on survey and reaches basic conclusions,and points out the problems worthy of attention.The third chapter explores factors influencing college students' political consciousness,mainly including social environment,ideological and political education in colleges and universities,network environment,and personal behavioral characteristics.The fourth chapter puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions on how to enhance the college students' political awareness in the new era,involving four aspects: optimizing the social environment,enhancing the timeliness of ideological and political education in universities,optimizing the network environment,and strengthening the guidance for social practice of college students.Among them,the second chapter,the third chapter and the fourth chapter are the focus of the thesis.
