Year-on-year rising number of overseas education seeking population and progressively easing governmental regulations have created the soil for entrepreneurial initiatives in the overseas education consulting services sector.Meanwhile,as consumers needs evolve with rational and personalized characteristics,a huge market space exists in differentiated and featured services.How can the now-comers,against the pressure of the overwhelming business networks of market dorminators,create a market compelling and potentially sustainable business logic? Business model analysis,innovation,and design is a measure that must be taken.The thesis begins with a literature review,where an extensive and general review is done to the theoretical research and industry practices in business model and business model innovation around the globe,coupling by an examination of the nucleus factors of business models,content and formats of business model innovation,and theories and methods for business model design and innovation.What follows is a study on the developments and trends of customer needs in the overseas education consulting service market,a deep dive into the business model of market-dominating organizations with the aid of business model canvas,and a case study of the business mode innovation attempts of “Shun Shun Liuxue”.What follows is a full analysis of the company's competitive situation.And supported by the business model design thoughts suggested by “business model design based on the ‘activity system' perspective”,“the competition map of knowledge intensive organizations”,and “business model canvas”,combined with a dissection of the industry's value chain,the focal points are spotted for start-ups to design a workable business model.It is further pointed out that a customer relation management oriended business model with segment customers,value proposition,customer relationship,and cost structure being its focus should be a logical framework that start-ups in the sector should follow.The thsis then ends with an attempt to devise a business model for the E company with the proposed framework.Feasibility analysis is also done to the business model designed.The thesis concludes that this business model possesses the advantages of being less resources-dependent and having higher customer value creating capability,lower fixed cost,and longer survival period.
