Mao Zedong thought of rural education,the important part of Mao Zedong educational thought,is a Chinese Communists represented by Comrade Mao Zedong.According to the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism,Mao Zedong thought of rural education is a scientific guiding thought which is formed in the theory of a series of original educational experiences in the long-term rural revolutionary practice of China,which is suitable for the situation of China.Mao Zedong thought of rural education is the crystallization of collective wisdom represented by Comrade Mao Zedong.Absorbed by Comrade Mao Zedong,summed up by Comrade Mao Zedong in his language,these correct ideas,opinions,experiences are reflected in Comrade Mao Zedong's scientific writings and speeches.Taking Mao Zedong thought of rural education as the research object,taking text analysis and historical method of investigation as the main research methods,this study traces back to the background,historical origin and practical basis of Mao Zedong's thought of rural education.During the first Kuomingtang-Communist Party cooperation,in the text of "rural education",Comrade Mao Zedong discussed the question of the class nature of education and the leadership of education,which showed the sprout of Mao Zedong's thought of rural education.During the period of agrarian revolution,represented by "Report on An Investigation of The Peasant Movement in Hunan","Decision of the Gutian Conference","Report From Xunwu"," Report From Changgang"," Report From Caixi",Comrade Mao Zedong's thought of " the Democratic Education of workers and peasants " had gradually improved,which also marked the initial formation of Mao Zedong thought of rural education.During the War of Resistance Against Japan,the publication of "on New Democracy ","Reform our study" marked the maturity of Mao Zedong's rural education thought.After the founding of the people's Republic of China,Mao Zedong's thought of rural education continue to be deepened.Mao Zedong thought of rural education embodies not only the essence of Marxism,but also the characteristics of the times in China.From three aspects of rural education value orientation,content and ways and methods from Mao Zedong,this paper systematically explains the main contents of Mao Zedong rural education thought.On the value orientation of rural education,Mao Zedong insisted on serving the workers and peasants wholeheartedly for the purpose of education,which aims at cultivating all-round laborers with socialist consciousness;on the content of rural education,Mao Zedong stressed the need to strengthen rural ideological and political education while developing rural science,culture and technology education.At the same time,the construction of rural culture should be actively promoted;on the ways of rural education,Mao Zedong adopted the way of combining education with productive labor,which actively explores the path of school education in rural areas,waling on two legs,and implements various forms of running schools and starts education from the needs of farmers.Looking at the process of Mao Zedong thought of rural education 's sprouting,forming,maturing and deepening,development,by combining the analysis of the main contents of Mao Zedong thought of rural education,this paper finds that Mao Zedong thought of rural education has the general characteristics of practicality,mass character,political nature and integrity.At the same time,Mao Zedong educational thought has important implications for the development of rural education and the development of this field.Starting from the characteristics of the countryside and the needs of the farmers,today's Rural Education should adopt appropriate content and way of education,revisit the advantages of combining teaching with labor,strengthen students' social practice ability,strengthen rural cultural construction,enlighten the people and change existing habits and customs.At the same time,rural education researchers should be alert to educational tendencies in education,which should pay attention to the systematic thinking and actively promote the construction of rural education theory.
