Investigation Of Safety Consciousness Of University Students In Dalian City

Today,the number of internet users in China has reached 150 million.The internet hasbecome the main tool for college students to collect information in their daily life.It brings college students not only convenience but also a series of safety problems.If cyber environment and security awareness cannot be improved,it may cause a lot of problems,such as wavering of ideal and belief,personal injury,property damage,information leakage and so on,which will bring a huge loss to the country,society,schools and their families.Having reviewed relevant literatures at home and abroad,this study analyzes the current situation of college students’ cyber security awareness and the practices of cyber security education in these schools.The subjects of this study were Dalian University of Technology,Dongbei University of Finance and Economics,Dalian Medical University,Dalian University of Technology,Dalian Foreign Studies University,Dalian Vocational and Technical College,Dalian Maple Leaf Institute of Technology.Both qualitative and quantitative research methods are employed.The results show that college students in Dalian have a weak awareness of cyber security and lack relevant knowledge and skills.The main existing problems are virus attacks,identity theft,network fraud,consumption disputes,network rumors and so on.Through qualitative and quantitative analysis and interviews,this study found that the problems above result from inadequate cyber security supervision,conservative way of security education and students’ reluctance to learn about cyber security.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen cyber security supervision system,expand the scope of cyber security education and innovate the forms of cyber security education which are effective strategies to improve college students’ cyber security awareness.
