This study is intended to develop instructional design of mathematics inequality in senior high school on the basis of APOS theory.For this purposes,there are two research problems set up as follows: First,what is the instructional design based on APOS theory? Second,how is the teaching effect? Three,what is the revised instructional design through teaching reflection? Case study,questionnaire and interview method are adopted to make the instructional design of these four new lessons:‘Unequal Relationships and Inequality',‘Basic Inequality',‘One-variable Quadratic inequality and Method of Solution' and ‘The Practical Application of Inequality'.First of all,instructional design is carried out from the following three aspects on the basis of ‘Procedure Chart of Instructional Design by APOS theory':teaching basis analysis,instructional design implementation and teaching evaluation.Then after carrying out the instructional design,post-test is provided to students.The teaching effect is evaluated through the teaching fragment and the test result analysis.Finally,we continue to reflect the teaching process based on the teaching effect and the interview result so as to modify and improve the instructional design.The main conclusions of the research are as follows: First,the implementation of instructional design of Inequality based on APOS theory helps students to comprehend the process on constructing knowledge of Inequality.Second,the implementation of instructional design of Inequality based on APOS theory helps students form comprehensive diagrams of Inequality.Third,applying APOS theory to instructional design research is helpful to improve pre-service teachers' Teaching Design ability.In conclusion,there are several advises as follows: First,pre-service teachers should carry out more practice on math instructional design under the guidance of APOS theory.Second,teaching research of APOS theory should pay attention to the application of APOS theory in the research of project instructional design.
