Investigation And Interpretation Of Cultural Symbols Of The Miao Hand Shuttlecock

The culture of traditional national sports has an important cultural function in the development of Chinese history.It has long been an important topic for the academic discussion.The Miao inhabited area in southern Sichuan is a region with a large population,and is the widest distribution area with a long history of inheritance and evolution.Therefore,it is representative and typical to study the symbolic meaning of Miao traditional sports culture in this region.Current research results mostly focus on the excavation and inheritance of Miao traditional sports culture.Few studies use the theory of cultural symbols to analyze Miao traditional sports.Based on it,this study investigated and interpreted the cultural symbols of the Miao hand shuttlecock from the interdisciplinary perspective of cultural symbols theory,traditional national sports and other perspectives.This was not only the need to fill the vacancy of the Miao hand shuttlecock cultural symbol theory,but also to meet the social needs of "cultural self-confidence" in the new era,as well as to meet the needs of the inheritance of excellent traditional culture education of our nation.In this study,the cultural symbols of the Miao hand shuttlecock in Southern Sichuan were studied by using the methods of documentation,field investigation and interview.By combing the historical origin,inheritance and evolution of the Miao hand shuttlecock,and taking the development of the hand shuttlecock activities during the local folk festivals as the background,this study expounded the signifier form and meaning of cultural symbols of the Miao hand shuttlecock.In addition,the research on the correlation of the cultural stratification of the Miao hand shuttlecock has been carried out,and a new path for the diversified development and educational inheritance of the unique Miao hand shuttlecock has been opened up.The results were as follows.1.The hand shuttlecock was made of selected corn husk inside,wrapped with exquisite embroidery cloth outside and decorated with Miao embroidery.It was printed shuttlecock with full and flexible handle.2.Production labor was a derivative art of the Miao hand shuttlecock.Influenced by farming culture,the Miao ancestors used the usual seedling throwing and seedling spraying to throw corn hulls together as a relaxation in the process of production and labor.3.Oral and heart teaching was the narrative way of the Miao hand shuttlecock.Miao is a nation without words,passing on the history and culture,myths and legends,production technology and entertainment of the hand shuttlecock by oral transmission to generations of Miao people.4.In-laws alliance was the consolidation form of the Miao hand shuttlecock.The hand shuttlecock was an important way for adult Miao men and women to communicate their feelings,and it was also a medium for Miao people to communicate and even marry with other nationalities.5.Belief enchantment was the cultural memory of the Miao hand shuttlecock.Miao people rooted their belief in chicken in hand shuttlecock sport,and endowed hand shuttlecock with the responsibility and obligation of inheritance and development of Miao traditional sports culture.6.The Miao hand shuttlecock had a very aesthetic appearance at the cultural level of utensils.Its high pleasant experience of competition annotated that human beings were not only creators of symbols,but also consumers of symbols.Institutional culture was embodied in the formulation of the rules of the hand shuttlecock competition.The continuous improvement of rules makes the competition process more ornamental and objective.The spiritual and cultural level of the hand shuttlecock highlighted the Miao people's spiritual pursuit of harmony and beauty and their yearning for a better life.7.On the basis of the analysis of cultural symbols,this study put forward new ideas of the times for the diversified development and educational inheritance of the Miao hand shuttlecock.First,improving the competitive level of the Miao hand shuttlecock.Second,promoting the popularization of the hand shuttlecock in folk festivals.Third,introducing the hand shuttlecock into physical education teaching in ethnic schools.
