It is of great significance to carry out subject teaching under the guidance of core competence,which is not only necessary for the times,but also for the development of students."Graphics and Geometry" is a part of the four major contents in the elementary school mathematics,which runs through the two major sections and concentrates on the contents of each part of the core competence of mathematics.Implementing core competence into curriculum implementation and guiding front-line teachers' teaching design with core competence ideas and contents are the key to full play value of core competence.Primary school mathematics core competence has different definitions and understandings in different levels and different subjects.At the national level,primary school mathematics core competence embodies the basic,universal and developmental nature.In primary school mathematics curriculum standards(2011)it includes knowledge and skills,mathematical thinking,problem solving,emotional attitude as well as ten contents;in general high school mathematics curriculum standards(2017)it includes At the local level in Shanghai,primary school mathematics core competence embodies the basic and applied nature,including knowledge and skills,processes and methods,emotional attitudes and values of three dimensions and seven major contents.In addition,some scholars have also given different views on the core competence of primary school mathematics.Based on the above literature,this study defines primary school mathematics core literacy as "the sum of basic mathematical knowledge,basic skills,mathematical ideas and concepts acquired by primary school students through mathematics education and their own practice and cognitive activities,as well as the resulting mathematical quality and problem solving ability".Its structure includes: Mathematical Operation,Mathematical Abstraction,Mathematical Reasoning,Intuitive imagination,Mathematical Application,Mathematical Intuition,Mathematical Culture.The four main contents of "Graphics and Geometry" reflect different core competences."Graphic recognition" part reflects Mathematical Abstraction,Intuitive imagination,Mathematical Reasoning;"Graphic measurement" reflects Mathematical Culture,Mathematical Application,Mathematical Intuition and Mathematical Operation;"Graphic movement" reflects Mathematical Culture,Intuitive imagination,Mathematical Reasoning;"Graphic and location" reflects Mathematical Operation,Mathematical Abstraction,mathematics application,Graphic Geometry and Its Spatial Relations.These literacies embody more specific requirements in the design of teaching objectives,teaching methods,teaching process and teaching evaluation.Based on the above analysis,this study considered that the teaching design of "Graphics and Geometry" in primary school mathematics should pay attention to the similarities and differences of the same competence in different parts of contents;find the key points of transforming core competence into teaching design elements;and pay attention to the embodiment of Mathematical Culture in teaching design.
