With the increasing emphasis on teachers' teaching knowledge,more and more people begin to pay attention to the subject matter knowledge of teachers.It is the unique knowledge that subject teachers possess,which has a significant impact on the teaching work and is the most important factor in enhancing the overall quality of teachers.The level of subject matter knowledge greatly determines whether or not the teacher is qualified.This paper first sorts out research literatures from domestic and abroad on the subject matter knowledge,and put forward the question of the study and the key issues in view of the existing problems in the study.Secondly,based on the related theory of subject matter kno,wledge,take the subject knowledge of trigonometric function as an example,from the three dimensions of subject matter knowledge,that is,Truth Value,Legitimacy and Connectedness,to investigate the mastery of mathematics teachers 'knowledge in secondary vocational schools using questionnaires,interviews and classroom observation methods,and to analyze the factors that affect the formation of mathematics teachers'subject matter knowledge.The results of investigation and research show that:(1)Secondary vocational school mathematics teachers' mastery of the Truth Value of subject matter knowledge is better than Legitimacy and Connectedness;(2)Teaching experience and education have significant impacts on the level of subject matter knowledge of teachers.On this basis,effective approaches to improve the knowledge level are given.Finally,the conclusion is summarized while the deficiencies of the research are analyzed and the problems that need to be further studied are pointed out.
