As a specialized organization in the university,the Faculty Development Center is the direct bearer of faculty development.The greatest significance of its establishment is to help improve the teaching level of college teachers and improve the quality of college teaching.Chinese higher education is in the critical period of building "double first-class",and puts higher requirements on the teaching quality of college teachers.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore and construct a faculty development center that meets teachers' development demands and meets the development needs of higher education institutions in the new era.The first-class university faculty development center in the United States is the leader of the world's faculty development center.Its advanced concept,stable and efficient operation,has contributed greatly to the development of American teachers and the development of teachers in the world.Therefore,this paper explores and analyzes the organizational structure and operational guarantee of the first-class university faculty development center in the United States,in order to provide ideas and enlightenment for the development of college teachers in China.The first chapter introduces the research background,research significance,literature review,concept definition,and research ideas and methods.This thesis adopts the literature method,the case method and the comparative method,and combs the Chinese and foreign literature with the key words of "the origin and history of the faculty development center" and "the construction and status quo of the faculty development center",and proposes the definition of relevant concepts and clear research problems and methods.The second chapter is the status quo and characteristics of the organizational structure of the first-class university faculty development center in the United States.The different types of organizational structure and the division of powers and responsibilities are introduced in detail.The “single-common” organizational structure is based on teaching and learning-related projects,and the evaluation projects and administrative projects are auxiliary projects.The “double-special” organizational structure includes two types.The first type of organizational structure is based on educational technology projects,teaching and learning-related projects,and the evaluation projects and administrative projects are auxiliary projects.The second type of organizational structure is based on education.The joint project,teaching and learning related projects are the leading,and the evaluation project and administrative project are auxiliary projects.Whether the “single-common” or “double-special” organizational structure is a flat organizational structure.The third chapter is America's first-Class university faculty development center operational guarantee system study.This section analyzes the multiple operational guarantee system of the first-class university faculty development center in the United States.The operation of the first-class university faculty development center in the United States is comprehensive,mainly including policy guarantee,organization guarantee,fund guarantee,personnel guarantee,evaluation guarantee.All aspects support center operation.The fourth chapter is implication of the American first-class university faculty development center to the construction of Chinese university faculty development center.This part summarizes the status quo and problems of the Chinese university faculty development center.In view of this,this study proposes that the experience of the first-class university faculty development center in the United States provides ideas and implication for the construction of Chinese university faculty development center.That is to reasonably optimize the organizational structure,increase support institutions,expand sources of funding,train relevant professionals,and improve the project evaluation level.
