Brunei a country which is in Southeast Asia.It is a monarchy with Islam as the state religion. The country covers an area of 5,765 square kilometers, with a total population of 421,300 and the Chinese population accounts for 10.23% of the total population. From the end of the 19 th century to the beginning of the 20 th century, the modern Chinese community in Brunei was initially established.Historically,Brunei has only eight Chinese schools. These eight Chinese schools have never ceased to inherit and develop Chinese culture.Founded in 1918,Brunei Chung Hwa Middle School is the most famous. It is the largest Chinese language school in all Brunei Chinese schools. At the beginning of 2019,there were 2,329 students in the school,of which 74.3% were Chinese students and 15.9% were Malay students. The school takes "ritual, righteousness, honesty, shame" as the school motto, and forms the school-running characteristics of "three languages and five character pay equal attention ".It mainly teaches students in Chinese teaching, extracurricular activities and moral education. It is a representative of Brunei sexual nongovernment schools and non-profit educational institutions. After 2010,the school introduced China's “five-step literacy” teaching method, and continuously reformed and innovated the methods of Chinese culture through classroom teaching, extracurricular activities and examinations.Based on in-depth field investigations and rich historical literature, this thesis explores the inheritance and development of Chinese culture in the Islamic monarchy with Malay ethnic group as the main body in the perspective of educational anthropology.I believe that the reason why Brunei promotes assimilation in national policy, the excellent Chinese culture has been inherited and developed in Brunei, and Chinese culture accepted by the Brunei government and society mainly for the following these reasons: First, the efforts of Brunei Chinese generations and contribution.Secondly,Confucianism and Wulun concept in Chinese culture are in line with Brunei's "Malaying and Religing Monarch" education. Finally,Chinese people are familiar with and master the life skills and methods under the monarchy autocracy, which has enabled Chinese schools to gain a certain space for development in Brunei society.Brunei Chinese schools have trained many talented and talented people for Brunei.Their outstanding performance and achievements have been recognized by the government of Brunei and the local community. The Brunei Chinese schools have also played an active role in promoting the friendly relationship of the two countries. They are bridges for Chinese and Chinese to learn from each other.
