Overseas Chinese education carries the infinite expectation of overseas Chinese to retain and inherit Chinese culture,and it is an important medium for the survival of ethnic Chinese culture.Chinese education in the Philippines began at the end of the 19 th century,and has experienced ups and downs in the 120 years.The most influential case is the "Filipinization" happened in the 1970 s.So far,overseas Chinese education has become Filipino-Chinese education,and the goal of Chinese education has changed accordingly.Chinese language schools are important places for Chinese education.Under the background of "Filipinization",this paper discusses the current situation of traditional Chinese culture inheritance in Chinese language schools from the perspective of cultural inheritance,and draws a conclusion that currently the attitude of Filipino-Chinese teenagers towards traditional Chinese culture has gradually become positive.During the research,the author conducted a field study among three Chinese language schools,and studied the inheritance of traditional Chinese culture reflected in classroom teaching,extracurricular activities and cultural exchange projects.In addition,the author conducted a survey on language learning and cultural attitudes of Filipino-Chinese youth by using stratified sampling,576 questionnaires were collected from three schools.Through the vertical analysis and cross analysis of the questionnaires,the attitude of Filipino-Chinese teenagers towards ethnic culture could be detected,and further it shows the effect of Chinese education.Finally,there is an analysis of the inherent challenges and mass opportunities,which proves that the recovery of ethnic cultural identity of Filipino-Chinese teenagers is not accidental.To a certain degree,it indicates the further development of Chinese education in the Philippines.
