Research Objective: Intermittent hypoxia training is a supplement and replacement for modern traditional altitude training methods. It is also an effective auxiliary training method for routine training. However, there is still controversy about whether the ability to compensate for aerobic exercise has improved. In this study, the intermittent hypoxia training was incorporated into the daily training of young highlevel race walkers, and the effects of appropriate hypoxic dose intermittent hypoxia training on the aerobic capacity and special ability of high-level race walkers were explored.Research Methods: Four high-level race walkers were subjected to four weeks of routine training and intermittent hypoxia training, and blood indicators, aerobic capacity indicators, and special ability indicators were tested before and after the two training sessions.Oxygen saturation is monitored during the intermittent hypoxia training.Research Results: Oxygen uptake showed a significant difference after intermittent hypoxia training(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference after routine training.Heart rate was significantly different after routine training and intermittent hypoxia training(P<0.05).The anaerobic threshold heart rate was significantly different after intermittent hypoxia training(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference after routine training.Routine training had less effect on the reduction of maximum heart rate(d = 0.26)and the effect on the ratio of anaerobic threshold heart rate to maximum heart rate was also small(d = 0.18);while intermittent hypoxia training has a greater impact on the maximum heart rate(d=0.56).The effect of the ratio of anaerobic threshold heart rate to maximum heart rate was greater(d = 0.97).There was no significant difference in blood lactate after both training sessions. There was no significant difference between the blood biochemical indicators of athletes before and after the two trainings(P>0.05).After both trainings, there was a moderate effect on hemoglobin(d=0.71 after routine training and d=0.65 after intermittent hypoxia training);intermittent hypoxic training had a higher effect on ferritin levels than routine training(d=0.48 after routine training and d=0.50 after intermittent hypoxic training);routine training had a greater effect on the increase of testosterone level(d=0.83 after routine training,d=0.72 after intermittent hypoxic training);and intermittent hypoxic training cortisol has a greater effect(d = 1.00).In the special ability test, there was no significant difference in the 20 km walk of the special endurance in the special ability test of the race walkers before and after the two trainings;and the results of the intermittent hypoxia training in the 2km and 400 m sprints that reflected the speed endurance, there was a significant difference(P<0.05)compared with before training.Rountine training has less impact on 20 km and 400 m sprints(20km d = 0.39;400m sprint d = 0.32)and has a greater impact on 2km sprint(d = 2.08);after intermittent hypoxia training, the 400-meter sprint has a greater impact(d=1.17),with a moderate effect on 20 km and 2km(20km d=0.71;2km d=0.66).During hypoxic training, the oxygen saturation in the quiet state and after training gradually increased and stabilized.Research Conclusion: Four weeks intermittent intermittent hypoxia training can improve the aerobic capacity and special ability of high-level race walkers to a certain extent, but there is no significant improvement in relevant blood indicators.
