Standing long jump is a necessary item for students' physical fitness test.The traditional standing long jump test is to measure the performance manually,which is time-consuming and laborious.In this paper,a low-cost and intelligent automatic ranging system for standing long jump was designed,and applied to the test of standing long jump on campus.The specific research content is as follows:A standing long jump distance measuring system based on image recognition is designed,which includes the long jump data acquisition system,image processing and recognition system and performance display platform.In the long jump data acquisition system,the functions of user data retrieval and storage,long jump image acquisition and foul detection are accomplished.Both the hardware and software systems are designed.The image processing and recognition system is divided into three modules,which include image preprocessing,image target extraction and image recognition and ranging.Performance display platform accomplishes the remote display of user performance data,and the management and maintenance of user information.An automatic ranging algorithm is proposed for the standing long jump performance measurement,which is based on image pattern recognition.In order to ensure the image boundary of the test area is clear,binarization is realized by the largest inter-class variance algorithm.Furthermore,in order to accomplish the image denoising and the extraction of test area,an improved wavelet threshold denoising algorithm is proposed,and the combination of the improved algorithm and morphological denoising algorithm is utilized to enhance the image denoising effect.A perspective transformation algorithm is designed to accomplish the image transformation of target area and the landing coordinate detection to complete the automatic range recognition.According to the standards for sports equipment and facilities in primary and secondary schools published by the ministry of education,the allowable error of the standing long jump detector is within 1cm.2000 standing long jump tests were carried out through this system,and the error analysis results showed that the absolute error of this method is 0.52 cm,the root mean square error(RMSE)is 0.63 cm,and the overall standard deviation(SD)is 0.39 cm.In conclusion,the system conforms to the market standard of standing long jump tester and has practical application value.
