| In recent years,China’s educational reform has achieved affluent results,and the overall teaching level and quality have been significantly improved.However,in the process of teaching,we find that the differences between excellent students and poor students still exist,especially in rural areas.Excellent students are more active in learning and devote more to learning,while poor students are more passive in learning and are unwilling to devote more energy to learning.If these differences cannot be effectively improved and solved,they will have a negative impact on learning and teaching.Therefore,the analysis of the differences of learning motivation and cognitive load between the excellent students and the poor students can provide effective guidance for teachers’ teaching work in the future.In this paper,515 junior middle school students from the first grade to the third grade in a rural middle school in Jinghai District of Tianjin were selected as the research participants.They were compiled as excellent students according to the first 27%of the students’ scores,and the last 27%as poor students.The questionnaire was conducted with the Personal Goal Orientation Questionnaire and the Cognitive Load Questionnaire for Middle School Students.On the one hand,the current situation of learning motivation and cognitive load of excellent and poor students was studied.On the other hand,it compares the learning motivation and cognitive load of the excellent students and the poor students,then processes and analyses the collected data,and finally gives educational suggestions based on the analysis results.The results show that:1.The scores of excellent students in all dimensions of learning motivation are higher than those of poor students,with significant differences.2.Excellent students scored higher on all dimensions of cognitive load than poor students,with significant differences.3.There is a significant positive correlation between learning motivation and cognitive load.4.Task-based learning motivation can predict cognitive load.Based on the results of this study,the following suggestions are made:1.Schools should create a relaxed teaching atmosphere,set up courses to cultivate students’ learning motivation,and consider different types of students in teaching.2.Parents should not indulge in spoiling their children or impose too many compulsory requirements on them.3.Increase investment in education in rural remote areas to promote the overall development of students in rural areas. |
