| The teaching of argumentative writing in senior high school is an important way to improve students’ speculative thinking ability.The Chinese Curriculum Standard of General Senior High School(2017Edition)sets up "speculative reading and expression" learning task group.It is pointed out clearly that students’ speculative thinking ability should be improved.But now with the popularity of articles without rigorous,the abuse of new words on the Internet,using chatting pictures instead of words and other phenomena,students’ expressive ability is being negatively affected.The problems such as unclear argument,invalid argument and confused argumentation also reflect the low level of speculative thinking ability of senior high school students and the unsatisfactory actuality of argumentative writing.Toulmin’s model of argument pays attention to the development and promotion of speculative thinking,the ability to practice in daily life,the usage of argumentation language and the process of argumentation.It is suitable for argumentative writing teaching in senior high school.In order to enable the students to master some necessary logic knowledge,improve the speculative thinking ability and argumentation writing level,this paper probes into the application of Toulmin’s model of argument in the teaching of argumentative writing in senior high school by using themethods of literature research and case analysis.This paper is divided into four parts:The introduction and literature review part briefly introduces the reason for the study and research methods,combs the relevant research results at home and abroad,makes a reflection about the present situation of study and expounds the significance of the research.The first chapter summarizes the argumentation elements,the demonstration process and the background of Toulmin’s model of argument,it also analyzes the necessity of the research of argumentative writing teaching in senior high school.Then it demonstrates the feasibility of applying Toulmin’s model of argument to the argumentative writing teaching in senior high school.In the second chapter,the application of Toulmin’s model of argument in the teaching of argumentative writing in senior high school is called Toulmin Writing Mode,and it is expounded from three aspects:teaching idea,teaching goal and operation process.Among them,the operation process is mainly expounded from the following five aspects:form a clear argument,identify the corresponding elements of argumentation,identify concise and clear ideas of argumentation,adopt the rigorous argumentation structure and use vivid argumentation language.The third chapter analyzes the specific cases of Toulmin WritingMode,and clarifies the positive significance of Toulmin’s model of argument to students’ speculative thinking ability and argumentative writing.And it also points out the shortcomings.There are two things needed to be concerned when using Toulmin Writing Mode in the teaching of argumentative writing in senior high school,which is mainly about the solid accumulation of argument and speculative thinking.And some suggestions are given from the two aspects.Toulmin’s Writing Mode is an innovation of argumentative writing teaching in senior high school.I hope this paper can provide some reference and help for the teaching of argumentative writing in senior high school. |
