Childhood is a critical period of life.Children's mental health is closely related to each individual and every family.Attention to children's emotional and behavioral issues is important to circumvent the risk of children's growth and provide a better environment for their growth.Family is the main place for children to live, study and grow.Families provide economic support and emotional support for children's physical and mental development. Therefore, the influence of family support must be considered when studying children's emotional behavior. In this study,280 low-income families in Shanghai were surveyed, and some of them were interviewed. On the basis of knowing the life status of these families, the emotional and behavioral performances of the children in the low-income families were measured by the strengths and difficulties questionnaire(SDQ).In this paper, family support and parental depression are used to explain the emotional behavior of children. This paper attempts to study how to correct the emotional behavior of children in low-income families through various efforts to promote the development of children's mental health and ultimately improve the anti-poverty ability of the low-income families. The results of the questionnaire survey show that the children in the low-income families are more likely to have emotional and behavioral problems than the average children. The family support of low-income families and children's emotional behavior are significantly correlated. There are significant differences in emotional behavior among children with different levels of support.Parental depression is significantly associated with emotional well-being of children in low-income families. In this study,we find that the emotional behavior problems of children in low-income families are characterized by depression, anxiety and anger. They have difficulties in peer interaction and are prone to feel inferior. They are less involved in social activities and have serious social withdrawal behavior. In addition, this paper analyzes the causes of the above-mentioned problems in children's emotional behavior, and finds out that the factors such as parent-child recreational activities, homework counseling, corporal punishment and parental emotion affect children's emotional behavior through certain mechanism. This paper intends to make policy recommendations from micro, meso and macro levels. At the micro level, the improvement of family support can improve the ecological environment for children's growth and reduce the intergenerational transmission of poverty. At the meso level, the involvement of multiple subjects such as schools, communities and social organizations can fully mobilize the existing social resources and strengthen the social support for the children in the low-income families; At the macro-level,the government is able to introduce relief services policies to meet the development needs of children, enhance children's long-term development capacity and promote the healthy development of children in low-income families.
