Research On Application Of Scouting Reports In Competitive Basketball Sports

Scouting reports are being widely used in basketball all over the world.With collecting opposing teams' information,players' physical statistics,key players' statistic analysis and analysis on other teams' technique and tactics,scouting reports can pursue the keys to win a basketball game and help find excellent basketball young talents.Therefore,it has a significant importance to player selection,athletes performance enhancement,game result changing by study the applications of scouting reports.This article studies the National Basketball Association,Chinese Basketball Association and the Chinese national Men's basketball team as the investigation objects.It uses the method of interviews in depth,the method of field investigations,to observe several teams how they make and use their scouting reports.It also uses the method of documentation,the method of mathematical statistics,the method of logic analysis,to sort out the statistics from the investigations.It uses SPSS software and Excel to analyze the statistics.Research results show that(1)scouting reports can be categorized into player individual report and advanced report.(2)player individual report has a deep influence on the recruitment of Chinese and American basketball athletes.(3)advanced report has a breaking through significance to techniques and tactics analysis which can improve the chances of pursuing keys to win.(4)scouting reports has values to sports psychology studies and professionalism of scouts.Conclusions are that(1)scouting reports can really help the teams to raise the chances of victory,however,it won't be always correct,it still has a lot of room to improve.(2)scouting reports have no standard format in a global range but they do have things in common on the core contents.With the development of technology,the forms which carry scouting reports start to diverse.(3)there is still a huge gap between Sino-US basketball,it shows on the application of scouting reports,technology development,and how muchthey value them in two different leagues.(4)scouting reports use a collection of text,charts,audios and videos to record and evaluate the investigation objects completely.they can identify who are suitable for this sport and reveal the weakness of other teams techniques and tactics.
