This study makes a critical analysis of senior high school students' argumentative writing from the perspective of eight-part essay.The samples of argumentative papers analyzed were from Shanghai H Middle School.During the one-year internship in the middle school,the author collected a large number of high school students'argumentative papers,including daily compositions and argumentative papers in various examinations.At the same time,the author also collects all kinds of excellent compositions of college entrance examination recommended by senior high school teachers as "model" in the teaching process.Finally,a total of 108 complete high school argumentative papers and 80 paragraphs of senior high school argumentative papers were obtained.In the process of collecting and analyzing the writing of argumentative papers in senior high school,the author finds that there is a general problem of eight-part tendency in the writing of argumentative papers in senior high school.In order to find out if there is this problem in the current high school argumentative writing?How serious is the problem and how can it be improved?The author makes a comparative study and critical analysis of the ancient eight-part essay and the modern argumentative paper.It is found that although modern argumentative papers put forward the writing standards of argument,argument and argumentation,among the three elements,high school teachers'writing teaching tends to emphasize arguments and ignore argumentation.When discussing the argumentation of argumentative writing,students are encouraged to adopt an argumentation method similar to that of eight-part essay.This study focuses on the eight-part tendency in the writing of argumentative papers in senior high school,and puts forward a critical analysis of this.Therefore,this study focuses on three issues:first,what are the key characteristics of the eight-part essay?Second,to what extent does modern argumentative writing have the tendency of eight-part essay?Third,how to improve the eight-part tendency in the writing of argumentative papers in senior high school?Therefore,this study mainly alternates the historical research method and the investigation research method.Through the historical study,the key characteristics of the ancient eight-part essay are verified.Through the investigation and research,we can find out whether there is the problem of eight-part tendency in modern argumentative writing and to what extent the problem is serious.This study focuses on the key characteristics of the eight-part essay,in order to investigate the tendency of the eight-part essay in modern argumentative writing and put forward a critical analysis of the tendency of the eight-part essay.In the critical analysis of the eight-part essay tendency in the writing of argumentative papers in senior high school,this study adopts three argumentation methods:"classified argumentation","relational argumentation"and"logical argumentation",which are emphasized by philosophical argumentation.This study not only takes”classified argumentation","relational argumentation"and"logical argumentation" as the methods to improve the writing of argumentative papers in senior high school,but also as the basic framework for the analysis of argumentative papers in senior high school.The logical argumentation discussed in this study includes deductive argumentation,inductive argumentation and analogical argumentation;classified argumentation mainly includes comparative argumentation and comparative argumentation;relational argumentation includes internal and external relations,causality and unity of opposites.
