Sexuality is indispensable for the life of human beings,and the satisfaction of sexual needs is an important part of the quality of life.A large number of research shows that sexuality education can help people deepen their understanding of sexual issues,form correct sexual attitudes,and promote the development of physical and mental health.However,because of the lack of sexuality education,the life quality of the people with intellectual disability(ID)has been reduced,and their personal safety suffers different threats.Thus,it's necessary to implement sexuality education for people with ID.High school is the peak period of individual development and the key stage of sexuality education.A comprehensive understanding to the status of sexuality knowledge and attitude of people with ID is the basis for effective sexuality education So,this study takes high school students with ID as the obj ects,investigates the status of their sexuality knowledge and sexuality attitude by questionnaire surveying,and implements the intervention of sexuality education,then explores the effectiveness of sexuality education interventionIn the first study,97 high school students with ID were surveyed by the Chinese revised assessment of sexuality knowledge questionnaire(ASK-CR).According to the results,two conclusions can be drawn:Firstly,in terms of sexuality knowledge,the sexuality knowledge level of students with ED in high school is at the medium level,the sexuality knowledge structure is not balanced.They lack the knowledge of sex transmitted diseases,contraception and sexual behavior.The sexuality knowledge level of ID students is higher than the students with ID who has complication of autism.The sexuality knowledge level of students with mild ID is higher than the students with moderate ID.The sexuality knowledge level of students with ID who from inclusive class is higher than the students with ID who from special education schools.Secondly,in terms of sexuality attitude,the sexuality attitude of students with ID is relatively negative.The sexuality attitude of students with mild ID is more positive than the students with moderate ID.The students with ID who from the inclusive class have more positive attitude towards sexuality issues than the students with ID who from the special education schools.In the second study,31 students with ID are provided with the intervention of sexuality education.The researcher makes and implements the sexuality education intervention program,then compares the change in sexuality knowledge and attitude of the students with ID before and after the intervention.It is found that the sexuality education intervention can significantly improve the sexual knowledge level of the students with ID in high school.The improvement level of the students with ID who from the inclusive class is significantly higher than the students with ID who from special education schools.Sexuality education intervention has a little impact on the sexuality attitudes of the students with ID.
