Bullying in schools is a growing phenomenon in today's world, and Indonesia has not been spared.Bullying can give adverse outcomes to the victim such as confusion,anger,fear,self-doubt,and weaknesses in their academic and social competencies. The study on bullying was conducted in Elementary Schools in Toili,Luwuk Banggai regency,Indonesia. The study sought to find the common types of bullying based on their perceptions, and their experiences in dealing with bullying,as guided by Albert Bandura's Social Learning theory and Vygotsky's Social Constructivist theory. One hundred twenty-eight participants from 18 elementary schools were administered a questionnaire adapted from School Climate Bullying Survey(SCBS).The study adopted a sequential analytical approach for data collection.A descriptive analysis was done for demographic information and bullying frequency whilst inferential analysis thus;a repeated measure ANOVA assessed the differences between the average ratings of the four types of bullying, and Two-way ANOVA measured the differences of bullying dealings taken by teachers between private and Public schools. The qualitative data were analyzed by using open coding: detailing, testing, comparing, axial coding: make connections between categories includes conditions of interaction strategies and consequences “Label and table and Selective coding: core category selection, validating these. The study found that Verbal bullying was highly experienced whereas cyberbullying was less experienced among the student.Immediate intervention was echoed as a standard measure against bullying among students. As bullying was argued to be a toxic behavior, this study endorses that, religious approach, discussion between Teacher parent and children, education, punishment, and monitoring the application of online media should be considered. Moreover,no specific rule is effective on bullying issue;therefore I believe the findings of this study may help policymakers, particularly on organizing anti-bullying programs to reduce the number of bullying in elementary schools in Luwuk Banggai,Indonesia.
