An Exploratory Study On The Unpredictability Of Competition Result

The unpredictability of the result of competition in sports is not only the attribute of sports itself but also the charm of sports.Table tennis is the national ball of our country,the representative of victory in the field of sports in our country,and it has created a miracle of prosperity and endurance.At present,table tennis makes Chinese traditional dominant events.In the past ten years,China has almost won most of the championship and runner-up competitions,and the predictability of the results of the competitions is relatively enhanced.Similar to Chinese table tennis,this situation exists in other sports.So how to improve the unpredictability of the results? On the basis of previous studies,this paper makes an experimental study on different methods to improve the unpredictability of competition results.Athletes of different levels are divided into first-class group(Table Tennis First-class Athletes will not be mentioned below),mixed group(including Table Tennis Second-class Athletes and Table Tennis Second-class Athletes)and below-class group(Table Tennis Second-class Athletes and below-class Athletes).The three groups were tested separately.Rank sum test is used to process the data and draw conclusions,which can provide reference for the development of various sports.The adjustment of competition equipment,innovation of competition items,the way to determine the winning or losing of competition,competition system and reward method have certain influence on the unpredictability of competition results.It is mainly reflected in the following aspects: after table tennis has been changed from celluloid ball to new material(the change of ball material is replaced by the change of ball material in the following section),it has a significant impact on the unpredictability of the results of the world's top men's competitions(P < 0.05),and has no significant impact on the unpredictability of the results of the world's top women's competitions(P > 0.05).Compared with the traditional table tennis board,the use of sandboards has a significant impact on the unpredictability of the results of the competition in the sub-second level group(P < 0.05),and the sandboards have no significant impact on the unpredictability of the results of the first-level group and the mixed group(P > 0.05).Increasing the unpredictability of the results of matches in a group has a significant effect(P < 0.05).Decreasing the net has no significant effect on improving the unpredictability of the results of matches in the first-class group and the second-class group(P > 0.05).Increasing the net has a significant effect onimproving the unpredictability of the results of matches in the first-class group(P <0.05).Increasing the net has a significant effect on the unpredictability of matches in the second-The unpredictability of results had no significant effect(P > 0.05);after the innovation of competition items,the unpredictability of competition results was significantly affected by table tennis(P < 0.05)for the sub-level group and the first-level group(P < 0.05),while the unpredictability of competition results was not significantly affected by table tennis(P > 0.05)for the mixed group(P > 0.05).There was no significant effect on the unpredictability of competition results in the first-level group,the second-level group and the mixed group(P > 0.05);after the change of competition system,the four-point system had a significant effect on the unpredictability of competition results(P < 0.05);after the change of competition reward methods,there was no significant effect on the unpredictability of competition results in the first-level group,the second-level group and the mixed group.Sound(P > 0.05).The unpredictability of the results of the competition is conducive to improving and innovating the competition mode and promoting the development of competition forms.At the same time,the research on unpredictability of competition results can also narrow the level gap between athletes to a certain extent,which is conducive to the development of ornamental sports,and can provide reference for the innovation and development of competition forms of other sports.
