Research Of Space View About Bouedieu's And Giddens'

The debate between structure and action as well as the argue about the individual and the society is always an important topic in the field of philosophy and sociology.Since the beginning of sociology,this argument has never stopped.And scholars base on the difference in theoretical positions,and gradually construct three traditional research paradigms,namely,positivism,humanism and the critieism.Given the criticism emphasis more individual prior to the society,it,to some extent,is involved the category of positivism.Therefore,there are two opposing groups between a structural theory of positivism and action theory of humanism in the field of sociology.In this argument,time and space as the skeleton and blood of the society theory should be supposed to play an equal rather than an alternating role,however,the fact is adverse,even worse,space was stranded in a long time.The three founders of the sociology,Marx,Weber and Durkheim,had described the space,but slightly mentionedIn the 1980s,with the emergence of a comprehensive situation about the structure-action and the micro-macro attitude in the field of sociology,space attracted scholars' research interests again,especially "production of space" of Lefebvre was a turning point.Bourdieu's field theory and Giddens'structured theory make a good response to the combined effort of structure and action,both of which use the conception of space to integrate the long-standing opposing condition between structure and action.Therefore,based on the structure-action debate,this article regarded the theory of Gidden and Bourdieu as its research object in order to study the notion of space.In the process of comparing the spatial view of the two scholars,we found that they were prone to the one-side orbit due to partly their inclined origin of thought respectively,which led to two opposing views about Bourdieu,s view of structural space and Giddens' perspective of action space.However,it is no gainsaying the fact that this combined efforts laid foundation for the following integration about the structure and cation,directed the research of space in the future.In order to forsake the viewpoints of the structural space and the action space,scholars should learn from Bourdieu's view of structural space and Giddens' perspective of action space,break through the long-term opposing situation.They should construct a correct paradigm of spatial view based on the integrated theory about structure and action·Under such circumstances,we can take space as an important and correct role in the sociological theory,and rebuild its theoretical stage.
