The influence of many factors on junior high school students' self-identity perception has been shown by some researches that parental expectation perceived by individuals is related to the formation of self-identity,but there is still no clear conclusion on the mechanism of the influence between perceived parental expectation and self-identity.Future goals are goals of personal significance that individuals consciously pursue in their daily life.Setting goals related to future development is helpful for individual self-development and self-realization.At the same time, the formation of future goals is influenced by parents and families.Based on the literature review, this study explores the role of future goals in the relationship between parents' expectations and self-identity perceived by individuals. In this study,a cluster sampling method was used to conduct a question naire surv ey on 800 junior high school students from different cities in Henan Province using the "Middle school Students Perceived Parental Expectation Questionnaire","Self-Identity Questionnaire" and "Future Orientation Scale".After reliability analysis of the que stionnaire, descriptive analysis, independent sample t test, variance analysis, structural e quation model were used to conduct data processin g.The results showed that:First, junior high school students' perceived parental expectations are not significantly differe nt in terms of gender and mother's educational level, but are significantly different in terms of grade, family type and father's educational level.Second, the future goals of junior high school students are not significantly different in gender, whether they are only children or not, family type, but are significantly different in grade, whether they are only children or not,and parents' educational level.Third, junior high school students' self-identity has no significant difference in grade, whether they are only children or not,and their mother's educational level. There are significant differences in gender, family type, and father's educational level.Fourth,The perceived parental expectation and self-identity of junior high school students are significantly correlated with each dimension of future goals. The future goals of junior high school students play an intermediary role between the perceived parental expectation and self-identity.According to the above research results, the following educational enlightenment is put forward:Junior high school is a period of rapid physical and mental development of teenagers.Parents should pay more attention to the physical and psychological changes of junior high school students and give them active guidance when appropriate. They should not only pay attention to their children's academic performance, but also cultivate their interest and independent ability. At the same time, parents should also update their educational concepts and understand the new things their children like, which helps to establish a better family atmosphere and parent-child communication. When junior high school students think and plan for the future, parents should show positive and supportive attitude and give appropriate affirmation. For those parts that have conflicts and contradictions with parents' ideas and thoughts, they should not blindly control and attack or hold fierce opposition. They should be guided patiently, coaxed, and solved by equal communication methods so that children can have independent space and time to think better. In particular,single-parent families and combined families should pay more attention to the ways of communication between parents and children, and pay more attention to children's mental health,so that both parents and children can understand each other's real thoughts.Parents should maintain good communication with junior high school students,so that junior high school students can better perceive their parents' expectations, and at the same time praise and encourage them in a timely manner,so that they can be self-reliant and confident,so as to better identify with themselves and establish a positive sense of self-identity.
