Parental sacrifice is defined as the process by which parents give up personal needs for their children’s educational and developmental needs,while perceived parental sacrifice refers to the perception as children of their parents giving up personal needs for their own educational and developmental needs.Filial responsibility refers to the obligation of children to respect and take care of their parents,and is the communication and support between generations.Numerous studies at home and abroad have shown that adolescents’ perception of parental sacrifice can affect their filial responsibility in a direct or indirect ways.It is of great significance to the healthy development of junior high school students to study the impact of perceived their parents’ sacrifice on filial responsibility,and to explore the situation of junior high school students’ perceived parental sacrifice.Based on this,an empirical study was conducted on the basis of previous theories and researches.First,we conducted in-depth one-on-one interviews with 22 junior high school students,then revised The Perceived Parental Sacrifice Scale developed by Hong Kong scholar Leung(2010)and others,and finally adopted the revised Perceptual Parent Sacrifice Scale,Self-Determination Scale,and Learning Motivation Scale and Filial Responsibility Scale were administered to 550 junior high school students,SPSS23.0 and AMOS22.0software were used to analyze the data,so as to clearly perceive the relationship between parental sacrifice,self-determination,learning motivation and filial responsibility.Study 1:Qualitative research has found that junior high school students generally have a perception of parental sacrifice.Junior high school students perceive parental sacrifice in the following aspects: life care,study guidance,financial support,child priority,life pressure,giving back to parents,learning environment,mutual assistance between grandparents,mutual assistance between home and school and satisfying children.Study 2: The revised “Junior High School Students Perceived Parental Sacrifice Scale”includes 19 questions with three dimensions: “parental capital investment”,“parental time investment” and “parental self-sacrifice”.The overall internal consistency coefficient is 0.892,and the internal consistency coefficient of each dimension is between 0.862-0.873;the fitting indexes of construct validity are good.The scale conforms to the three-factor theoretical model with good reliability and validity.Study 3: Junior high school students’ perceived parental sacrifice scores were significantly higher than the theoretical mean.Significant gender differences in perceived parental sacrifice are only reflected in parental time investment and parental self-sacrifice,grade differences are reflected in.
