In recent years,the faculty development has become a hot topic in the field of higher education.The UK has always attached great importance to the faculty development of university,places it in an important development position.Since the popularization of higher education,some organizations aiming at promoting the development of university teachers have sprung up in UK.After a long period of development,a systematic organization system of internal and external linkage has gradually been formed,including government organizations at the national level,intermediary organizations at the social level and school-based organizations at the university level.The study is divided into four chapters.First,the introduction part specifically introduces the research background and significance,research objectives and content,research ideas and methods,defines the core concepts,and summarizes the faculty development process,organization support theory and the faculty development organizations in UK.The second chapter divides the historical changes experienced by the faculty development organizations in British universities into three historical periods: the embryonic period,the development period and the maturity period,and then draws out different levels of faculty development organizations.The third chapter combines the theory of organizational support,discusses the construction of the organizational system of faculty development in British universities from the three levels of government,society and university,and selects specific cases as support respectively to deeply analyze its institutional setup,main functions and specific practices of each organization.Although some achievements have been made in the construction of faculty development organizations in China's universities in recent years,there are still problems such as inadequate organizations construction,lack of organizational culture cultivation,development projects in formalities,and overlapping organizational functions.So,we should fully refer to the rich experience of the construction of faculty development organization system in UK.Therefore,the last chapter is based on the summary of the basic experience of the construction and development of faculty development organizations in British universities.It is concluded that in the process of improving the construction of faculty development organization systems in China,we must establish a correct service concept,improve relevant organizations,and provide diversified service projects and strengthening cooperation between organizations.
