STEM education is a teaching form designed to cultivate comprehensive and innovative talents.This teaching form also conforms to the new curriculum reform goals of cultivating core literacy of students.However,the current STEM education in China is still in the initial stage,and most of them are in the stage of applying foreign teaching modes.There is no STEM teaching mode suitable for the development of education in China.Therefore,how to design an effective STEM teaching mode to achieve the goals of the new curriculum reform has become an urgent problem.In this regard,based on the analysis and research of excellent cases,this article attempts to construct two STEM teaching modes suitable for basic education in China——The "production STEM teaching mode" and "inquiry STEM teaching mode" are expected to provide reference for STEM education researchers and front-line teachers.This research is mainly divided into the following six parts:The first part clarifies the research background and significance of the construction of STEM teaching model,puts forward the research purpose of this research,and sorts out the research status of STEM education and STEM teaching model at home and abroad.The second part defines related concepts and expounds the theoretical basis of the research.The third part puts forward the research contents and methods of STEM teaching mode construction,and combines the logical framework of STEM teaching mode research to determine the specific operation ideas of the research.The fourth part is the process of constructing the teaching model based on the above operating ideas.This part consists of three contents: 1.Select eight excellent cases of STEM education,divide them into two types: production type and inquiry type,and analyze their basic information.2.Classify and analyze cases from the aspects of teaching goals,teaching procedures,teaching strategies,and teaching evaluation,and construct two STEM teaching modes based on the results of case analysis.Third,verify the feasibility of the two teaching models from the ability to train students' comprehensive literacy.The fifth part is an application example based on the teaching model constructed above.The production case “Making Solar Water Heater” and the inquiry case “Item Classifier” are designed,and the feasibility of these two cases is theoretically verified.The sixth part puts forward the implementation suggestions,summarizes the whole research,points out the shortcomings of this research and the future research prospects.
