Kento Momota,a Japanese Badminton Men's Singles Player,as a rising star of the men's singles event in badminton,he has defeated many famous badminton players such as Viktor Axelsen,Shi Yuqi,Chou Tien-chen,Chen Long and Lee Chong Wei since his return from suspension.With its unique playing method and exquisite technology,it first topped the world in September 2018.While being promoted by the media to win gold at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020,he has also become the "number one rival" of the Chinese badminton team men's singles.Sun Wu,a famous military strategist and politician in the Spring and Autumn Period,mentioned in his "Sunzi's Chapter of Strategic Attacks":"Know your friends and know your enemies well,and you will not be afraid of your opponents until you understand them.Therefore,this topic takes the methods of documentation,video observation,mathematical statistics and expert interviews as the means,and based on the data of Kento Momota Competition,chooses 15 matches(32 games)of Kento Momota Competition after its release from the ban to observe,and takes its technical and tactical characteristics and the characteristics of gains and losses in the competition as the research object,in order to find out the characteristics of its playing methods.This paper puts forward some feasible suggestions for the future training and competition of Chinese athletes.The results show that:(1)In the technique of service,Kento Momota mainly uses the Low serve of backhand,combined with the flick serve of backhand technology to steal the back court.In terms of the choice of service landing point,it mainly concentrates on area 1,followed by area 5,and the service landing point is single compared with the opponent.(2)In the technique of return of service,Kento Momota mainly uses the Net shot technology of grabbing the high point with a low shot.The usage rate of Net shot technology and Net kill is generally higher than that of opponents,while the usage rate of low shot and diagonal is generally lower than that of opponents.In the drop points of return of service,Kento Momota is mainly located in areas 1,2,5 and 6 of the four corners of the court,among which area 6 has the highest utilization rate.(3)In the forecourt,Kento Momota has a strong sense of controlling the net.The highest utilization rate is Net shot,followed by lift.By Net shot the area in front of the control forecourt to seize the advantage in front of the forecourt.He generally uses more Net shot and Net kill skills than its opponents,and less low shot and diagonal skills than its opponents.In the forecourt,it mainly uses the Net shot to score,and his ability to use the Net shot and Net kill is generally better than the opponent's.(4)In the midfield,Kento Momota mainly uses Straight line-retrieve technology to reverse his passive situation,and generally uses less Diagonal retrieve,Clear-retrieve technology than opponents.In the face of the opponent's smash,Kento Momota will more choose the technology of Straight line-retrieve to defend and counter-attack,and the return-smash defense is more single.Good at midfield intercept,but also more mistakes than opponents.(5)In the backcourt,Kento Momota mainly uses positive downward pressure,the highest utilization rate is smash,followed by Drop shot.In the backcourt,Kento Momota mainly relies on smash scores,mainly with forehand splitting big diagonal and overhead stroke smashing straight line,and three zones(left midfield)are the high-frequency zones for he smash scores.and in the backcourt,the loss is more from the clear.(6)In terms of the nature of gains and losses,Kento Momota made fewer active mistakes,and nearly half of the scores came from the other party's "non-forced error"score.It generally scored more than the opponent in the use of "the other party's non-forced error" and the difference was significant.Robust play and less active mistakes are the key to win.
