Chinese martial arts enjoys the reputation of "national treasure" in China,and it has been passed down through the times and is an important part of China's excellent national traditional culture.Contemporary college students are an important force for the rejuvenation of the country's prosperous and strong nationalities,and are indispensable groups in the inheritance and protection of martial arts culture.Many experts and scholars have carried out research on the development of college martial arts,but most of the research objects are public colleges and universities,and there are few studies on private colleges and universities.Although the private colleges started late,they have developed rapidly and have now become an important part of higher education in China.Therefore,promoting the development of martial arts in private colleges and universities is of great significance for the development and inheritance of martial arts.In the National Sports General Administration Sports Management Center System"China Five Years of Wushu Development(2016-2020)" clearly pointed out that efforts should be made to promote school martial arts education,improve the martial arts teacher training mechanism,focus on promoting martial arts into the campus,and attach importance to the background of martial arts professional discipline construction.Next,this paper investigates the current situation of Wushu sports in Wuhan undergraduate colleges,aiming to promote the better inheritance and development of martial arts.This paper selects 800 student questionnaires and teacher questionnaires from Wuhan Huaxia Institute of Technology,Wuhan Communication College,Wenhua College,Jianghan University College of Arts and Sciences,Wuchang Institute of Technology,Wuhan Bioengineering College,Hubei Business College and Wuhan Institute of Business and Technology.Using the methods of literature,questionnaires,interviews,and mathematical statistics,the following conclusions were drawn through investigation and analysis:In terms of cognition,at present,most students in Wuhan undergraduate colleges do not have a high level of awareness of martial arts.There are fewer students participating in martial arts programs,but they have a higher level of support for campus martial arts.Most martial arts teachers still need to further improve their attention and theoretical research on Chinese traditional martial arts.In terms of teaching development,the number of martial arts teachers is insufficient,the gender of teachers is less than that of male teachers,and there are few high-level academic research talents such as doctoral students and professors.The martial arts teachers are young and middle-aged people aged 30-40.The teacher is the main.In terms of curriculum,most colleges and universities take the martial arts elective course as the main course,and a few schools take the one-year martial arts compulsory course as a special course.Students are not satisfied with the overall content of the martial arts curriculum,the size of the students and the overall satisfaction of the teaching venue equipment.In terms of extracurricular activities,students participate in extracurricular martial arts activities less frequently.Most students know less about the campus martial arts community.The campus martial arts culture atmosphere,venue and teacher strength have become the main influencing factors for students to participate in extracurricular martial arts.In the training and competition of school martial arts teams,most martial arts teams do not have a complete martial arts regulations management system.The main source of funding is relying on school funding and student payment.The enthusiasm of private undergraduate colleges to participate in martial arts competition needs to be further improved.
