Problem solving has been a basic human activity since ancient times, the study of mathematical problem solving has also attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign experts and scholars, but ethnic regions are rarely covered in the study. At present, the research on mathematical problem representation of Tibetan students is scarce in China. This research is mainly based on the ethnic background, analyzes and summarizes a large number of existing studies and related literature at home and abroad. As follows:1?Explains the importance of mathematical problem solving in ethnic regions.Defined the concepts of problem solving, problem representation and plane geometry problem representation.Summarizes the relevant theories on mathematical problems solving models and internal mechanisms.Focused on the classification and summary of the problematic characterization of the research scholars.Discusses the importance of reasonably representing mathematical problems.2?The research methods adopted in this study are questionnaire method and test method. The analysis method is mainly based on quantitative analysis(including basic descriptive statistics,non-parametric test and chi-square test),supplemented by qualitative analysis.3?The test materials for mathematical problems are set as: plane geometry(quadrilateral).Textual representation, symbolic representation, graphical representation, and operational representation are the only contents of this article, the subjects were the third Tibetan students in Lhasa, analyze the overall trend distribution of Lhasa junior high school students at various levels of representation using basic descriptive statistics, performed gender and class significance analysis.4? A questionnaire survey was conducted on Tibetan students in Lhasa in the third and third quarters, including family situation, study situation, and representational habits.Based on the cultural and educational background of Tibet, the relevant factors that influence the characterization of problem solving are analyzed and discussed. On this basis, relevant mathematics teaching suggestions were provided to Tibetan mathematics teachers.5?The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)Lhasa junior high school students have a left skewed distribution in text representation, symbol representation, graphic re presentation, and operational representation.(2)The "internal representation" of the students in the higher schoolrunning schools in Lhasa presents a normal distribution, while the "internal representation" of the students in the ordinary school-running schools presents a left-skewed distribution. There are significant differences between the two.(3)Lhasa junior high school students' mathematical problems represent bad habits, the main cause of which is the teacher's teaching.(4)Language is the main factor affecting the representation of Tibetan students' mathematical problems, and especially it has a great influence on the representation of characters and symbols.(5)No gender differences in the level of textual, symbolic, graphical, operational, and internal representation.
