With the development of researches on mathematics, studies of errors in problem-solving have been gradually known and become an important subject with increasing attention. In all the researches, the causes of the errors in problem-solving are the highlights. By collating the relevant literature, we can see that although remarkable achievements have been acquired, there are still many deficiencies. In this article, I will try my best to analyze the causes of the errors in problem-solving according to the concept of the capacity from the view of knowledge, and then to put forward some constructive suggestions for the teachers on how to deal with the errors. This thesis is divided into five parts:Part Ⅰ:The Origins of the Problem. This section mainly focuses on the background, the theme and the significance of the study.Part Ⅱ:Literature Review. In this section, I will make a brief review on the domestic and foreign literature in this field, from which we can see the understandings of the past researches on the causes of the errors in problem-solving and how to use the errors. There is a lot to learn from these results as well as many problems. Analysis of these documents serves as a guide for this article.Part Ⅲ:The Theoretical basis of the Study. This part is the detailed description on the theoretical basis of this article, including the concept of the capacity from the view of knowledge and some studies on problem-solving process.Part Ⅳ:Inquiries and Analysis on the Causes of the Errors in Plane Geometry Problem-solving of Junior Middle School Students. In this section, the following three questions are discussed:the first one is the inquiries of the knowledge of the teachers and students on the errors in problem-solving; the second one is the classification of students'errors, expecting to find out the common characteristics of the errors; the third one is the analysis in-depth of different types of errors, through which the difficulties hindering the improvement of students in problem-solving are found and the corresponding guidance is given to the teachers. Part Ⅴ:In this section the proposals, combined with specific examples, on how to correct students'mistakes are put forward in accordance with the conclusions of the previous research.
