Research On Happiness Of Chinese Residents And Its Influencing Factors

With the development of the social security system and the quality of life,it is urgent to get a happy life.Therefore,it is a great significance to study the influencing factors of residents' happiness and put forward corresponding policy suggestions.Based on the data of CGSS2015,this article explores a total of 80 variables in 9 sections including social demographics,health,household registration,lifestyle and interpersonal communication,social attitudes,class identity,political participation behaviors and attitudes,personal cognitive ability and social security influential factors affecting residents' happiness.The multiple Logit model with Lasso penalty term was used to select variables,so as to screen out 43 main factors affecting the happiness of residents,among which at least 1 variable was included in the other 8 sections except the Hukou section.Then,a multiple Logit model were established for these 43 variables.Through the parameter estimates of each variable and the significance level of the parameters,a detailed analysis was made on how these variables affect the residents' happiness.Through empirical analysis,the following conclusions are obtained: 1.On the issue of residents' happiness in CGSS2015,the proportion of people who answered "relatively happy" and "very happy" is as high as 80.51%,which indicates that the overall well-being of Chinese residents is good;2.In this Logit model which comparing very happy and unhappy,income,housing construction area,physical health status,mental health status,media use-Internet,social activities-watching TV,social activities-physical exercise,social fairness,class hierarchy after 10 years,family economic status and marital status are significantly related to residents' happiness.3.In this Logit model which comparing happiness to very unhappiness,income,housing construction area,mental health,media use-Internet,social activities-watching TV,social activities-listening to music,social activities-physical exercise,social equity,family economic status and marital status are significantly related to residents' happiness.4.In this Logit model which is comparing not happy or unhappy to very unhappy,housing construction area,mental health status,media use-Internet,social activities-watching TV,social activities-listening to music,social fairness,family economic status and marital status are significantly related to residents' happiness.5.In this Logit model which is unhappiness to very unhappiness,housing construction area,mental health status,media use-Internet,social activities-watching TV,social activities-listening to music and marital status are significantly related to residents' happiness.
