Study On The Influence Of Urban Amenity On Labor Mobility

With the development of economy and the improvement of people’s living standards,the labor force pays more and more attention to the quality of life in the city in the process of choosing to move.It not only requires sound and perfect public services,but also hopes to have a suitable climate environment.In the new normal of economy,in addition to the traditional driving factors of labor mobility,urban comfort has become a new influencing factor.By analyzing the impact of urban comfort on labor mobility,we can provide policy implications for guiding labor mobility and promoting the spatial optimal allocation of Chinese labor.Firstly,this paper summarizes the relevant research on labor mobility and urban amenity,combs the classic theory of labor mobility,the characteristics of labor mobility,the current situation of labor mobility,the factors affecting labor mobility,and sorts out the proposal and development of comfort,the research status at home and abroad,and the current research status of urban comfort affecting labor mobility.Through combing the relevant literature to summarize the current research status and shortcomings,this paper puts forward the research direction.Secondly,it analyzes the theoretical basis of the impact of urban comfort on labor mobility from the perspective of cost and income of labor mobility,and puts forward relevant assumptions.On this basis,the urban comfort evaluation index system is constructed.According to the factors affecting the labor flow,the evaluation index is selected,and the weight is determined by entropy method,and the comfort index of each city is obtained.Finally,the paper constructs conditional Logit model with reference to the literature related to labor mobility,and makes an empirical study on the impact of urban comfort on labor mobility.The results have passed the robustness test.Furthermore,we have an analysis about the heterogeneity of cities and individuals.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:First,urban comfort has a certain impact on labor mobility,among which natural comfort plays a more positive role in attracting labor;Secondly,there are differences in the influence of city level and geographical location on the comfort attracting labor mobility.The higher city level and the eastern coastal cities’ comfort attract more labor;Third,the influence of comfort on labor force is heterogeneous,age and years of education of individuals affect their preference for comfort.On this basis,this paper puts forward policy suggestions for the government to reasonably guide the labor flow and urban development planning from the national and urban levels.At the national level,we should do a good job in policy guidance,and improve urban comfort by promoting the equalization of basic public services and the construction of ecological civilization;at the urban level,we should make strategic plans suitable for urban development according to local conditions,and improve human comfort and natural comfort.
