Teachers' teaching beliefs can guide teachers' teaching ideas and teaching behaviors.And they are also the internal driving force for teachers to form their thoughts,concepts,views and make their decisions and learning behaviors.The teachers should hold positive teaching beliefs.And it is the key to decide whether teachers can achieve the established educational goals and gain good results,whether the remarkable results can be achieved by the new curriculum reform,and whether the new college entrance examination can be smoothly promoted.This paper takes senior high school geography teachers in Mian Yang City as the research sample to do empirical research on their teaching beliefs,aiming to explore the current situation,differences and problems of senior high school geography teachers' teaching beliefs,as well as the main factors affecting teaching beliefs.Besides,the relationship between teaching beliefs and teaching behaviors is discussed in this paper,and some opinions and suggestions for the existing problems are put forward.This paper is divided into the following parts:The first part is the introduction,which explains the reason of the topic selection,the theoretical significance and practical value of the research.This research mainly adopts the methods of literature,questionnaire,interview and observation,and takes the senior high school geography teachers in Mian Yang City as the research object,so as to carry out the empirical research on the teaching beliefs of senior high school geography teachers.During the research,SPSS20.0 professional statistical analysis software was used to sort out,count and analyze the data obtained in the survey.In the literature review,the relevant concepts of beliefs are differently defined and analyzed,such as beliefs and concepts,beliefs and faith,educational beliefs and teaching beliefs.Importantly,some scholars' definition of teaching beliefs and the relationship between teaching beliefs and teaching behaviors are summarized.In many related studies,most of the scholars have done relevant research on the factors that affect teachers' beliefs.The author believes that teachers' beliefs are implicit and complex.And there are many factors that affect teachers' beliefs,including personal factors,school environment factors,social environment factors,teacher-student relationship and other factors.The second part is the compilation and revision of the questionnaire.The questionnaire used in this paper is based on the teacher belief scale compiled by famous scholars and combines with the reality of high school geography teaching.The questionnaire consists of six parts: geography curriculum belief,teaching behavior belief,teachers' role belief,students' learning belief,students' evaluation belief and influencing factors of belief.Likert scale was used to score the questionnaire.After the questionnaire was designed,the prediction analysis of the questionnaire was carried out,and the questions with unclear differentiation were deleted.In order to further test the validity and reliability clearly of the questionnaire,the factor analysis of each dimension of the questionnaire and the reliability analysis of each item were carried out.The results show that the validity and reliability of geography curriculum belief,teaching behavior belief,students' evaluation belief,teachers' role belief,students' learning belief and belief influencing factors in the scale are acceptable,which meet the basic requirements of measurement science.And finally a formal questionnaire has been made.The third part is the result and discussion of the questionnaire.By analyzing the teaching belief status and differences of high school geography teachers,analyzing the correlation between teaching belief and teaching behavior,and analyzing the teaching belief content of high school geography teachers,it is found that the surveyed high school geography teachers are aggressive in all dimensions of teaching beliefs,and the overall teachers' teaching beliefs are also positive.However,there is a slight difference in the degree of enterprising,among which the degree of positive belief orientation in geography course is the strongest,and the degree of students' learning belief enterprising is the weakest.Teachers of different genders,teaching ages,education background,professional titles and schools have slight differences,but on average,there is no significant difference in their teaching beliefs.According to the survey,it is found that many factors affect the formation of teachers' teaching beliefs,and teachers' personal learning and work experiences are the most important.In addition,the results show that there is a significant positive correlation between teaching beliefs and teaching behaviors.The aggressive degree of high school geography teachers' teaching beliefs is far higher than that of teaching behaviors,which shows that the teaching beliefs held by teachers are not fully reflected in teaching behaviors.The fourth part is the conclusion and suggestion of this paper.In this part,the author mainly make a further summary which includes the current situation,differences,influencing factors,content,relationship between teaching beliefs and teaching behaviors of geography teachers in senior high school.The author puts forward the following five countermeasures and suggestions on how to guide high school geography teachers to improve their teaching beliefs.First,the teachers should take it serious to form the right teaching beliefs and adapt to the changes of teachers' roles.Second,the teachers should improve their ideological and political quality and improve teachers' professional ethics skills.Third,in order to build high-quality teachers' group in the new era,and the teachers should strengthen their own professional quality.The fourth is to comprehensively deepen the reform of the education system and improve the teacher evaluation mechanism and assessment system.The last but not the least,the government should make policies to continuously improve the pay and social status of teachers,and truly make the teachers become an enviable profession.
