As a bridge between pre-service education and post-service education,the new teacher inductive education has been developing vigorously,and the mentor support system based on the tutorial system has been constantly improved.However,there are still some problems in the mentor support of new teacher inductive education in our country,such as the lack of mentors' professional development concept,the disparity of guidance content,the lockstep guidance method,the unsound corresponding policies and regulations,the lack of practical effectiveness in the operation of the support of mentor,and the relevant research still needs to be improved.As one of the most exemplary mentor training programs in the United States,the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program has trained a large number of high quality on-boarding instructors and effectively promoted the retention and professional development of new teachers.The experience of the "South Carolina Mentor Training" is of great significance for improving the quality of mentor support and improving the quality of inductive education in China.This paper reflects on the current situation of the theory and practice of mentor support in China and the United States,taking the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program as an example,based on the theory of integration of teacher education,teacher professional development theory and adult learning theory,on the basis of the collected literature,combined with case study method and comparative research on analyzing the formation,composition,operation and characteristics of the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program,so as to provide inspiration and reference for establishing and perfecting the mentor training mechanism in our country.The text consists of five parts:The first part points out that the formation of the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program has gone through four stages: incubation stage,production stage,developmentstage and improvement stage.During the incubation stage,in addition to strengthening the research on induction guidance model,a series of measures were taken to improve the guidance skills of mentors.During the production stage,in response to the South Carolina Induction and Mentoring Program: Implementation Guidelines,which calls for new teachers to stay on and stabilize the teaching staff,South Carolina Department of Education(SCDE)and the Center for Educator Recruitment,Retention and Advancement(CERRA)officially adopted cooperation "South Carolina Mentor Training" program.During the development stage,the implementation effect of the program was tracked through investigation,and its deficiencies were supplemented.After two years of design,pilot and promotion,the new version of the training was launched.In the improvement stage,CERRA implemented the training and certification of mentor's trainers and adopted the online update training system to promote the in-depth improvement of the training program.The second part expounds the basic idea of the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program to provide new teachers with high-quality induction mentors,promote the professionalization of mentor team and develop exemplary mentor training model,and implement the guidance of professional knowledge and strategy skills to the mentors,specially to divide professional knowledge according to the needs of adult learners need,use state,district,and school-based collaborative training methods to enhance the mentor's capabilities and promote the professional development of new teachers.Meanwhile,policies,funds and the cooperation of relevant institutions are emphasized to ensure the smooth development of the mentor training.The third part presents the operational preparation,operational process and operational results of the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program.Teachers are required to meet strict application requirements,to qualify for training through online and offline applications and interviews with professional teams,with an emphasis on clearly delineating state and district responsibilities.Emphasize the importance of interpretation from guidance activities in the training and the demand of the new teacher and the role of mentor to guide mentor of dividing identity construction,through targeted professional knowledge and strategy to help instruction skills acquisition guidance,eventually in the form of teaching mentor,self assessment and reporting to render the training effect.The training program has effectively improved the guidance knowledge and skills of mentors,improved the classroom teaching practice of new teachers and developed a model of mentor training.The fourth part concludes that the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program has the characteristics of two-way training concept,targeted training content,cooperative training mode,comprehensive training guarantee and sharing training mode.Based on the characteristics,this paper discusses the uniqueness and reference of the mentor training program,analyzes its theoretical basis of universality and its wide effectiveness in practical operation,and finally concludes the reference of the "South Carolina Mentor Training" program.The fifth part is based on the problems existing in the mentors' support in the new teachers' inductive education in our country and combined with the experience of South Carolina,and obtains the enlightenment for the establishment of the mentor training in our country,including the improvement of the two-way development concept to make up for the lack of the professional development of mentors;the construction of modular training content to improve the quality of mentor guidance;the exploration of cooperative training methods to innovate the traditional guidance methods and the establishment of a comprehensive security system to standardize the mentor training activities.
